This isn’t about music — it’s about power and anxiety.

Bad Bunny’s global voice and unapologetic identity challenge the old guard’s narrative about who “belongs” and who gets to be heard. Trump’s backlash isn’t cultural critique — it’s fear of a platform he can’t control, especially one amplified by millions who reject fear and exclusion.

Jane, yeah…that part about what he “can’t control” is delicious, eh?!😎

You had me at Bad Bunny. I scored a seat at my neighbors house! You enjoy the game too! Lets not forget Green Day. When we resurface, let's hope Tdump didn't bomb Iran.

Coco, I love the energy! Bad Bunny is a HUGE cultural moment (first solo Latino Super Bowl halftime headliner, and super-streamed worldwide) that’s stirred a lot of conversation.

Green Day’s punk legacy has been openly critical of Trump for years. Trump...himself...has openly said he’s “anti-them” and will skip the game this year in part because of the performers.

His Kryptonite is humiliation...and as a nation...we have plenty of that to keep him ducking public events to avoid it.

I was going to say that Bad Bunny's hot, knows how to dance, and is an amazing singer. What more does he need? Did I mention that he's 🔥? 😁

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Chris...those are ALL things Trump is NOT...and he knows it. That's what makes it even sweeter!

Well said. I think the Super Bowl halftime show will be the most watched in history. I'll be watching and I don't really care for either team.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Thank you, Steven. You're damn right; even if you don’t care who wins the game...the halftime show is a global moment.

Bad Bunny’s set is historic...and expected to draw massive viewership...possibly rivaling record numbers from last year’s show with Kendrick Lamar.

It’s shaping up to be a HUGE cultural night...not just a game!

I love Bad Bunny because Trump hates him. I can't wait to post positive reaction about his performance, and I would not know him from Adam's house cat. I really am looking forward to his show. Hope everyone enjoys it! 😜

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Love this, Brenda! Bad Bunny is a global superstar...historic Grammy winner...and bringing culture and joy to the Super Bowl stage.

I’m hyped to post positive reactions...too...and enjoy the show with everyone! 🔥

Hope everyone has a great time watching!

And, for the record, other than what I hear in clips played in the media, I'm not familiar with his music either. I know enough about genius, however...to recognize it..even if only in brief views/listens...and I recognize it in him.

I also recognize the importance of getting behind and supporting someone who makes Trump's whiney ass have a melt down!

I don't know anything about Bad Bunny but if he burns dRump's ass I'm all in! The Patriots owner has donated money to dRump. Apparently not so the Seahawks owner. Go Seattle! Enjoy the show. Maybe some of the ads will be worth watching this year.

I'm Team Seahawks because they have SEVEN (Yes, seven) women in C-suite positions, from the Head of the Board, to the CFO, to the Head of Human Resources.

Jack, love this article!

I’m an elder and like Bad Bunny (what little I know of him). Could not name a song of his if I had to… but…. I’ve seen clips of him performing and really liked what I heard.

I have to add that, in addition to all the reasons you’ve outlined, t hates him precisely because BB is all the things AND happens to be a person of color. That's a double sin in t’s book. So pathetic and sad since race is known to absolutely be an artificial construct. I hope the human race gets up to speed soon.

I hope you enjoy the game and halftime!! Thanks for all you do!

trump must have absolutely hated West Side Story.

I posted this on John Pavlovitz's page the other day:

"I am an old graying Baby Boomer who had never heard of Bad Bunny until last fall. And I am very sorry I will miss the show. I understand it will be a blockbuster. But I do not have to know who he is or see him perform to know he has every right to be a success in the Land of the American Dream. And if he had hailed from Uruguay or Mexico or South Sudan or India, it also wouldn't matter. The MAGA doesn't get to claim any sport as their personal property. They don't deserve to.

Kudos to him."

Puerto Rico has been part of the US since 1898. Knowing history is so hard for trumpo.

I also read he has been advised not to attend the Super Bowl by stay because he will get booed like the couch f**ker VP and his wife did at opening ceremonies for the Olympics in Italy..Poor toddlers can't deal with all the negativity they are creating. I will probably only watch the 1/2 time show as the I am not for either team. Enjoy it Jack. I have never heard his music .

Bad Bunny is BadAss!! I love how he gets under the Melon Felon’s skin! I’m hoping it’s enough to cause some late night rage posting on Truth Social….you know you’re a success when you’re living in his head rent free! Kudos, my friend. There is no Super Bowl without the Chiefs, eh? 👍#HOLDFAST

In typical Trump fashion, spotlighting his unimaginative ignorance, Puerto Rico continues to be an hub of corporate commerce and innovative influence. Steady as we go. Thank you Jack.

I saw Bad Bunny for the first time a few weeks ago, on SNL, and went “ WOW” 🔥

I’ll be watching him for sure, oh, and go Seahawks!

Jack, thank you for the explanations tonight. They have allowed me to look up some performances to see what I had missed.

I will come back to read more. Meanwhile, I have something I believe is important to share.

🚩 This site shows Donald Trump Admitting to interviewer Alex Friedman, in Podcast #442, that he lost the 2020 election. The site is:

https://youtu.be/qCbfTN-caFI

I believe that that question and Donald Trump‘s response, saying that he lost by a whisker, should be played continually or at least very frequently, every replace possible, in order to stop the lies about a stolen election. He knows that he did not win, and he admitted that he lost in this interview.

Can't wait! #HoldingFast

So, this week, in our bright red town where funding issues are regularly voted down by people who don't believe in paying for anything, voters allowed big budget items to be placed on the ballot without any amendments! Maybe THIS will be the year those articles actually pass!
