I have seen this coming for a while. I and numerous others will have a major celebration when it happens. Oh, before I forget, we will see the wrecking ball destroying his stupid and wasteful ballroom and Rose Garden modification. I can't wait!

You’re dead right, Robert. (Say that three times...fast ;) The day his gaudy monuments to ego come crashing down will be more than cosmetic...it’ll be symbolic. A wrecking ball through his ballroom is a wrecking ball through his grip. And yes...we’ll celebrate like hell...then get right back to finishing the job.

Don’t wait! Get active and do something as suggested here to facilitate the ending. Waiting and inertia paves the way for us getting u to this mess in the first place.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Exactly, John. Celebration comes after action. Waiting is what landed us in this mess. Every step taken now...calls...pressure...organizing...chips away at his rotten foundation. Don’t wait for the wrecking ball. Be the one swinging it.

Yes get rid of the ugly ballroom that will look like a bordelo the same as what he has done to the Oval Office!

Jack Hopkins's avatar

You nailed it, Teri. His tasteless ballroom and gaudy Oval Office makeover are monuments to one thing...his ego. Tearing them down isn’t just about aesthetics...it’s about ripping out the rot he tried to plant in America’s core.

Agree with the theory just hope he doesn't destroy parts of the government that will be difficult to replace like CDC, FDA. If we can keep it together I think the midterms might be the catalyst for the rats to jump ship. They are setting themselves up to lose big and we have to make that happen.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Spot on, Nancy. He’s swinging a wrecking ball at institutions we can’t easily rebuild...CDC... FDA...the backbone of public health. That’s why we can’t wait for the midterms to maybe save us. The pressure has to start now...so when the cracks widen... the rats have nowhere to hide.

I think we’ll be surprised how many people will be glad to serve the public when they are given the chance to do real science and help clean up the mess. People are happy to work together for good. 👹

I hear you, Morgan. Anxiety’s a natural response when the stakes are this high. But here’s the truth....every deep breath is fuel...every step forward is resistance. One foot in front of the other is how we win. You’re not alone in this fight.

This woman is a hero, she is braver than any old white man in Congress. She must be protected, come high or hell water.

Absolutely, AG! Letitia James is showing more backbone than a dozen old bulls in Congress combined. She’s proof that courage still exists in public office...and yes...she deserves every ounce of protection and backing we can give her.

May have screwed the pooch with the Kimmel nonsense. Let’s hope this is the beginning of a prompt (I know - probably reaching here) end to this BS.

You might be right, Cherae...his attack on Kimmel reeks of desperation...and desperation cracks the façade. If this stunt backfires...it could be the first real opening to bring this circus to an end. But only if we keep the heat on.

Appreciate that, Randy. Pulling punches is what got this country in trouble...truth has to be sharp...even when the news tilts our way. And yes...a festival sounds about right when this house of cards finally collapses.

Two thoughts:

1. You expressed a thought that politicians care about “survival, reputation, money.” When I think of reputation, I think of ‘good’ reputation. I’m guessing that is not what was said here. Is it that some are so cocky and arrogant that having a reputation that is of a force to contend with is quite an achievement, even if the reputation is malevolent? I hadn’t thought of that before. Do I have this right?

2. When the mighty has fallen, and another steps in (Carlson or whomever), my fear is the nonsense will continue. I fear the guard rails are gone, the current majority of SCOTUS will be replaced with another group cut from the same cloth. Will die hard MAGAs ever split their vote?

Expand full comment
Jack Hopkins's avatar

You’ve nailed it, Mary. In politics, 'reputation' isn’t about virtue...it’s about raw power. A reputation for being ruthless...feared...untouchable...that’s currency. Many wear a malevolent reputation like a crown.

And you’re right to be concerned. If Trump topples...someone else...Carlson or another demagogue...will try to scoop up the pieces.

The guardrails aren’t just bent...they’re ripped out. The Supreme Court majority is proof of how long this rot can last. As for diehard MAGAs...they won’t split on their own. The split has to be forced by relentless pressure...exposure...and loss after loss until loyalty turns to liability.

Let's help things along. Time to brush up on your knowledge of "The Epstein Conspiracy." Not "the Files." Not "the Client List." Make no mistake. It's "The Epstein Conspiracy" and we need to start calling it that because that's exactly what it is.

RELEASE THE EPSTEIN CONSPIRACY FILES. DO IT FOR CHARLIE!

Here are the posts and articles I have collected detailing the depth of what I'm calling "The Epstein Conspiracy." It's not just some files, it's no just a client list. It's literally a massive conspiracy to conceal that global pedo cabal you've heard about all this time. Only it involves so many billionaires, royals, politicians, banking institutions, universities, intelligence agencies and global leaders your head will spin. If anyone hasn't fully lived in the rabbit hole yet, these links are a good start.

Exactly right, Angie...it’s not 'files' or a 'list.' That language downplays the scope. This is a conspiracy...deliberate concealment at the highest levels...spanning billionaires...royals... banks...agencies...politicians. Calling it what it is forces people to face the scale. And yes...RELEASE THE EPSTEIN CONSPIRACY FILES. Do it for Charlie...and do it for the truth. (That's a brilliant strategy, by the way...feed it to MAGA in a way where they have to reject Charlie...if they reject calling for the files to be released.)

I'm reading a shift towards guarded optimism that it won't take a civil war to survive this. Guarded is not guaranteed, I get that. Regardless, it's different than an angry warning. Rebuilding will be tough but there should be no question about what needs to guarded in the future. The excuse of it would never happen is gone. Maybe it's the only positive we get out of the current mess. Really solid post to end the week with. Thanks as always.
