Something needs to break the dam.

Can feel it building but cannot find tipping point.

Must happen, evil cannot rule forever.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Tamie, agreed. Every fiber of me now believes it can't NOT happen.

Since the MSM is not doing any significant coverage over these allegations nor doing any investigative journalism you have to wonder how many of the MSM executives are also involved.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Great point, Linn. If I were to guess...I'd say it's sure as hell a non-zero number of people.

In so many of the accusations that have been brought against him since the 2020 election, he has denigrated the accusers and cast doubt on the kind of people they are, but has never once lifted a finger to present evidence of his own innocence. It definitely feels like the Epstein case may be the powder keg that goes off in his face. And this should be something that SCOTUS can’t protect him from, since this is 100% outside of the constitutional power of the presidency. We just need a modern-day Woodward and Bernstein coming from a media outlet that has the moral strength to break the story open.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Faith, exactly. It’s his tell: trash the accuser, muddy their character, scream “witch hunt”… and never walk out with receipts of innocence. If you’re clean, you don’t just sneer...you prove.

And...you’re right why Epstein feels like a different kind of fuse.

This isn’t “presidential discretion” or some Article II sandbox. It’s private conduct...private relationships...private exposure...which makes it harder to hide behind the usual shields.

On the Woodward/Bernstein point: yes...though it may not be one hero outlet. It’ll take a modern machine: authenticating documents...locking timelines...protecting sources...and editors with the legal spine to publish what’s provable.

When that happens...the smear playbook fails...because the “accuser” stops being a person.

It becomes the paper!

There is no media outlet to expose it, instead it’s up to all of us, sleuthing through the files, looking over, under, inside and out. We will bring this all to light because that’s what we do! We are the Pedo police! Our uniforms will say NoPedo!

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Elizabeth...you are correct. And, I must say, there are times in life where I am actually...in an odd twist...RELIEVED. Knowing something rests with me...and WE...the people...is comforting. I know how hard I...and people like me...are willing to work...to get it done!

I think it will stabalize the country as long as their are trials and REAL consequences

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Shelly, I believe you are right. Done correctly...I also believe this will be a unifying series of events. I do.

The allegations include acts so horrific and lethal I shivered when reading them and resolved to go no deeper. It seems all the monstrous unbelievable things QAnon was accusing the Dems of was really going on, and the Einstein cabal are the perpetrators! Thank God for Rep Lieu and the few other congressional leaders standing up. I don’t want to have this on my conscience as an American. Let’s take the urgent steps for accountability. #HoldFast

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Audrey...I’m with you on this: the allegations are so dark they make your skin crawl. That reaction tells me you care...and that matters.

You’re also right that accountability CANNOT be optional. When something this serious touches power...it has to be confronted directly...not brushed aside. Leaders willing to stand up and demand answers deserve recognition for that.

And...I respect what you said about conscience. Wanting this addressed fully and urgently isn’t about politics...it’s about not looking away when something feels fundamentally wrong.

Hold fast. Pressure for transparency and accountability...is how trust gets preserved!

I so hope that there will finally be accountability. This country has allowed the rich and powerful to get away with so many crimes due to their status. Letting someone off the hook doesn't stop there, it just repeats over and over except the next ones and the next times are even worse. And here we are. If the Confederates who committed insurrection against the United States of America had actually been held to account, we might now be where we are today. This idea of let's not look at the past, let's move forward is a disaster waiting to happen, especially since history repeats itself and the best predictor for future behavior is past behavior. When we ignore those lessons, we doom ourselves to not just more of the same, but worse than before. IMO.

CLF's avatar

Full transparency won't necessarily stabilize the country but it surely won't destabilize it more than it already is.

HKJANE's avatar

Jack, you’re right—this isn’t about whether the allegations are true or false. It’s about how our institutions respond when the unthinkable touches the presidency. History is clear: look at Watergate. When Nixon’s abuses surfaced, decisive investigations and congressional accountability preserved legitimacy.

Today, we have allegations of child sexual abuse circulating in official files, yet the response is slow-walk, deflection, and procedural theater. That isn’t protecting the country—it’s eroding trust. When opacity becomes routine, legitimacy cracks, and someone eventually bypasses the system entirely.

Transparency isn’t optional; it’s stabilizing. If the allegations are false, release everything. If true, prosecute immediately. Anything in between fuels speculation, empowers opportunists, and undermines the foundations of governance. Jack, you’re right—the only way to preserve trust is to resolve this fully, credibly, and publicly.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Jane...you're on it. Trust can never be restored without resolving this matter. It will be hard enough...if it IS resolved. If it's not...yeah....trust will be like a dream in the night.

-Jack

Brenda Gass's avatar

Jane, “eroding trust” jumped out me. That is a huge problem for upcoming players in our government. It affects us all in the end.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Brenda, you're right. It's something incredibly pervasive.

There will be no stabilizing the country as long as Trump, Miller and their minions remain in charge - chaos is where they operate.

Correct. And, that means we know what we must do, Jeanne.

You’re absolutely right Jack, at some point, which I think will be sooner than later, the victims will not wait. And with other countries prosecuting those involved, more information. It will all be coming out!

I don’t was thinking the same thing: that investigations by other countries may uncover some of what our government is trying so hard to bury.

Nixon resigned only when Republicans convinced him that the tapes were not survivable. It took a very long time and a smoking gun. Until then, House and Senate Republicans were willing to quietly protect him.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Certainly. The path for saving this country has been ugly...and...I've no doubt...will get even uglier. However, I find peace in knowing that this is exactly what those who came before us had to experience as well, and that we...are no exception. We have a lot of work to do, and...I believe...that's exactly what we'll do.

Yep- The Epstien Files have affected many people internationally.. and here in the USA the Republican Propaganda machine is trying frantically to hold it back...their scheme of closing the Epstien Files is definitely not working.

It's just about to go into Deluge mode!

What is left is a pressure cooker ' Something's gonna give!!!'

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Lillian, you’re picking up on the intensity...and you’re not wrong about that. This isn’t a small, contained story. It’s international...layered...and emotionally charged.

When something touches powerful networks across borders...people feel the pressure building.

You’re also right about the atmosphere: it DOES feel like a pressure cooker. Big stories don’t just disappear when the public senses...there’s MORE underneath. When questions linger...attention COMPOUNDS.

That said, what ultimately “gives” in moments like this isn’t volume...it’s documentation.

It’s verified disclosures...formal findings...and institutional movement. That’s what turns heat into outcome.

Your instinct that this won’t quietly fade? KABOOM. When scrutiny reaches critical mass...systems are forced to respond...one way or another. YOU. ARE. RIGHT.

It's not going anywhere!

Pressure changes behavior.

In a weird sort of way, because Orange Boy has pissed off so many of our allies and literally, no other country trusts us to elect people aren't trying to burn down the house (with the family inside), other countries (it seems) are more liable to put some "teeth" into their Epstein investigations......maybe hoping to topple DJT???? If that's the case, instead of just CYA, Godspeed!!!!!

(A side note - being "Mum's" favorite son didn't help Randy Andy. LOL)

Where is the urgency that should accompany allegations of this magnitude?

Elizabeth Goodden's avatar

I think full transparency will be a collective welcome exhale for most everyday Americans. The only folks who’ll be upset in the least are the pedo supporters and pedophiles themselves. The trials will be riveting to say the least. I cannot wait, longtime coming and so well deserved !

Jay's avatar

Jack - Once again you present us with solid commentary and reporting that provides a path forward and sound reasons for this country to act regardless of political party. While some folks will be angry and unpredictable in their responses to full disclosure, I believe the majority of folks in this country are decent people who are greatly disturbed by these allegations of child abuse and sex trafficking. The "slow walking" explanations or "let's wait and see" attitude that prevails is not acceptable at all as many lesser known and not so politically connected individuals with similar allegations have learned in the past. I thank Senator Lieu for his calm but clear and devasting statements about the status of this so-called investigation by the DOJ. Keep the pressure on!! Jay
