Think about the last months of Nixon. The adults left one by one until the building was run by people whose main qualification was never telling the boss no. Trump just ran the same play with a better tailor. Miller is the staffer who has spent a decade waiting for the cage door to open, and now he holds the key and the keys to everyone else's office.

Wiles keeps her phone. A woman pushed out the door four days after an election loss, with a vague "political operation" title, knows where every body is buried and who buried it. Trump has never once been gracious to anyone he discarded. I'd watch for the first anonymous quote about how this was handled. Loyalty runs on oxygen, and he just cut hers off.
Bannon wins and gets nothing. He'll spend the weekend gloating, then discover that a Miller-run building has no room for a second megaphone. Those two will be sniping at each other before Christmas.
The Senate gets quiet and scared. Every Republican facing voters in 2028 just watched the guy who told them the truth get fired for telling it. They'll say "no comment" so fast it'll sound like a hiccup.
Vance gets sidelined. He's been told he's the heir. Now he's the guy who spoke honestly in public and got a pat on the head. Watch how quickly he finds religion on whatever Miller wants.
The staff leaks. People who sense the plane going down start packing parachutes, and parachutes in Washington are called books, podcasts, and cooperative interviews.

Having worked in a hospital system (we had critical care & ER nurses in our dept and having hung out with some of the medivac people (pilots and nurses), the darkest of DARK humor is sometimes the only way to survive the insanity and stress. Those helo pilots were insane (one was a Vietnam vet).

I had my job threatened once by someone that put us into an almost impossible timeline and I was the lead for that piece of the project. From now until the new congress & senate are sworn in the Democrats need to vote in one block against everything the Republicans try and do and use every delay tactic available and prepare to file court challenges against everything that hideous thing in the White House tries to do.
Any remaining republican congress person who is thinking of running for office in 2028 are counting on voters having a short memory. As in, if they stand aside and continue letting t and cohorts go scorched earth no one will question or remember their complicity.
