“Grotesque charisma,” indeed. Perfectly describes his pull and ability to enthrall. I’ve always thought JD was way more controllable. I won’t allow myself be optimistic about any of this yet and am keeping my eyes focused on Johnson. If and when he caves, it will be game over for the pedophile President.

Right there with you, Sherri. “Grotesque charisma” is the perfect phrase...like a car crash you can’t look away from. JD is more controllable...and I suspect that's exactly why he's being positioned so carefully.

Your instincts about Johnson are dead-on...he's the hinge point. If he cracks...the dam breaks. I'm keeping my focus there too. Quietly watching... waiting for that first ripple in the mask. Appreciate your voice here...it’s sharp...steady...and right where it needs to be. Stay close.

P.S. I’ve got something in the works on Johnson’s pressure points. Subscribers like you will get it first!

Oh my, the hits keep coming! I want to write like you Jack, when I grow up, geez.

So this angle on JD is totally fascinating and counterintuitive for me. I think I've felt so paralyzed by fear and rage that I could not see what you have described. You've persuaded me. I'm wondering now if JD will actually be pretty transparent and pathetic in any attempt at instilling gravitas, since his public record is so full of flip flopping opinions and junior varsity presence on the national scene. A total useful pol for the titans of back-room scheming. No charisma. No mystique. And he's married to the daughter of immigrants all of whom have brown skin; well now, fancy that MAGAs!

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Thank you for that, Philip. That means more than you know. And you already write like a firestarter...by the way. What you just laid out? Spot on.

JD’s lack of mystique is the point. He’s pliable. He doesn’t inspire loyalty...he begs for relevance.

The gravitas act will be transparent...like a kid in his dad’s suit trying to command the room with a voice still cracking. And yes... MAGA may soon have to square their “great replacement” fever dreams with the fact that their next chosen puppet has a family portrait that doesn’t quite match their preferred palette.

The contradictions are starting to chew through the paint.

We’re just getting warmed up.

-Jack

P.S. Stick around...your clarity is exactly what this moment demands

Someone should see about removing Steven Miller.

Behind the scenes the two things of concern to me are gerrymandering and trying to put something through again to prevent women from voting. Vance is a baby politically but with people like Stephen Miller behind the curtain, a lot could happen especially because Vance is so lacking in savvy with the nuances of government or maybe he’s just playing the dumb hick for now….

Jack Hopkins's avatar

You’re hitting on exactly the right nerve endings, Melanie. Gerrymandering is the silent coup...it doesn’t make headlines...but it redraws the battlefield before a single vote is cast.

And this creeping revival of anti-woman...anti-voter schemes? It's not fringe...it’s blueprinted. You’re absolutely right to clock Vance as a vessel...not a visionary. He’s the kind of guy who confuses playing dumb with playing it safe… but behind him? Stephen Miller doesn’t blink. He builds.

They don’t need JD to be brilliant...they just need him to obey. That’s the game.

You see it. Keep sounding the alarm.

-Jack

P.S. If they ever try to touch the vote again...especially women’s...we’ll raise a hell they never factored into their spreadsheets. Stay sharp.

I think that he's playing a game of chess. He has been strategically placing his pieces on the board and he's patiently waiting to strike. I told my husband before the election, with Shitler's obvious cognitive decline, that Vance would be President soon after because I see the 25th ammendment coming and Vance would 100% sign off on it.

Vance as vice president was also Musk's idea. And trump made an enemy of the man that hand picked his VP. He picked him for a reason. I still think that Vance has no soul though and is very unpredictable.

I believe that Thiel had hoped they could keep Dump alive and semi-rational until January 21, 2027, so that they could run Vance for two full terms after 25A’ing Dump on that date. The Epstein scandal looks like it has accelerated his already demented state such that they will have no choice but to dump Dump sooner. I still don’t see how we can prevent any further erosion of our democracy, much less begin to repair it under Vance. The best we can hope for is the 2026 elections deliver a Dem mamority in both Houses!

About seven thousand five hundred forty seven things occurred to me as I read this. In no particular rational order and in my rather fractured stream of consciousness, here goes. Vance is not well liked. And that's being kind. He can't even show up at any given venue on the planet without being ridiculed and booted out. He's not particularly savvy when it comes to overseeing anything more complicated than tying his shoes. He has a very nasty personality. (Of course, so does Trump.) He keeps company with very, very rich contributors who have no clue what this country needs. His BFF is Peter Thiel, one of the most dangerous men in the world. And, by default, J.D. would inherit vampire Stephen Miller, who, IMHO and Putin notwithstanding, IS the most dangerous man in the world by virtue of his shadowy presence in the White House, a presence cloaked by too much silence. And who has not one modicum of humanity.

Then there's the grassroots MAGA, the same mentality who waved teabags around way back then, and who, most recently, danced to YMCA, and who are still determined to cling to the beloved label, TRUMPER. I'm not talking about the rich and powerful MAGA machine. I'm referring to the millions of red-hatted morons who don't pay attention. And I was one of them. I voted for Trump twice. Because I was a Republican. And I wasn't paying attention. Until the insurrection on Jan. 6th.

I'm very afraid of what would transpire under a loose cannon like J.D. Vance and his band of merry wranglers. Protective of traditional values? To a point. Misogynist? Yes. Qualified? Hell no. And possibly Holy Mike for V.P.? Dear sweet Baby Jesus, deliver us.

Have a nice day.

Thiel makes my blood run cold. His alleged comment that we were most valuable as biofuel leaves me wary of the future without 47. These are not normal villains, but it is good to see cracks in the walls.

I don’t disagree that the cabal that put Trump in power, isn’t conspiring to take him down; however, I’d be careful about Vance.

I agree, he has little sway over the MAGA base, but remember, he’s nothing more than a marionette for Thiel, Musk and the rest of the tech bro billionaires who want to destroy the Fed, so they can destroy the dollar. And it’s this cabal that controls social media and is buying up all the MSM platforms in recent years.

Michael Brock had a great newsletter yesterday which essentially lays out their plan, which by no means has been hidden. This has been their goal for over a decade, and Trump was the “tool” to achieve those aims, and Vance; their failsafe!

I couldn't agree more. You call it "grotesque charisma", which is as accurate as one could get. It's the thing that allows him to "shoot someone on 5th Avenue" and still not lose his base and therefore Republican support. I read a lady the other day on twitter and she said even if Trump raped her daughters she would continue supporting him and still vote for him. That IS grotesque charisma or cult-like behavior. I certainly hope the end is near, but I have gotten my hope up too many times in the past. Looking forward to your future posts!

It appears that the shift is already happening. I can't believe people didn't see this coming before the 2024 election. Those tech (real) billionaires had to know that Trump is a moron. And now their "useful idiot" has run his course. My prediction: Trump will be out before the 2026 elections.

It's a bit too early for me to tap into the feasibility of the party disowning Trump. With that, Johnson made the decision to break for the summer because he saw that he could not get the required vote on the Epstein resolution. This issue is a deep one like the grave on the green with Ivana who was friends with Ghislaine and took that fall just one day before her NDA was to expire. It's a heinous story and being seriously followed by his cult. With that being said, I do agree with you. This is a marker in the sand.
