Why the President Will Likely Invoke the Insurrection Act—and What That Means for You
Let me be blunt: when presidents deploy troops on U.S. soil…it’s never just about “public safety.” It’s about control. Optics. Narrative. And power.
Now, we’ve got 2,000 National Guardsmen deployed in Los Angeles. That’s not a traffic control detail. That’s preparation. And if you think it ends there…I’ve got beachfront property in Nevada to sell you.
The Real Play? The Insurrection Act.
Let’s get something straight. The Insurrection Act isn’t some dusty relic. It’s been used—multiple times. George H.W. Bush invoked it in 1992 during the LA riots. Eisenhower used it to enforce desegregation in Little Rock. But when it’s used today?
It won’t be about integration. It’ll be about intimidation.
What Is the Insurrection Act?
The Act, first passed in 1807…gives the president broad authority to deploy U.S. military and federalize the National Guard to suppress civil disorder…insurrection…or rebellion.
That’s the sanitized version.
Here’s the real-world impact:
It overrides governors. It bypasses state authority. It gives the executive branch a green light to militarize the streets without consent.
And it doesn’t require congressional approval.
Legal? Technically, Yes. Dangerous? Absolutely.
The Insurrection Act allows this president—or any president—to declare that domestic unrest has reached a level where normal law enforcement can’t maintain order. The standard? Vague. The process? Subjective. The damage? Colossal.
If the unrest in L.A. gets spun into a “national emergency,” the president can use this moment as a pretext to assert federal power in ways that resemble martial law more than democracy.
Make no mistake: what starts in L.A. won’t stay in L.A.
Why He’ll Do It
Election Optics: Strongman politics play well with a fearful base. Nothing says “law and order” like Humvees on Main Street.
Precedent Erosion: This presidency has already tested norms and won. What’s one more broken tradition if it secures dominance?
Provocation Strategy: Deploying troops often escalates unrest. That escalation can then be used to justify harsher federal crackdowns.
Shift the Narrative: When the heat is on—scandals, Elon Musk kicking his ass in the media/social media, legal trouble, plummeting polls—invoking the Insurrection Act shifts focus.
This is how empires wobble. They don’t fall with a bang. They erode with a shrug.
What It Means for You
For the average citizen: You may wake up to curfews. Military checkpoints. Restrictions on assembly.
For protestors: Federal charges…surveillance…and indefinite detention under emergency powers.
For businesses: Closures…disruption…economic panic. And guess what? No one’s refunding you for lost days.
For media and speech: Watch for increased censorship, “anti-misinformation” enforcement…and chilling effects.
Even if you never pick up a sign or shout in the street…your freedoms can shrink by proximity.
What You Should Do Now
This isn’t fearmongering. It’s preparation. And in true Jack Hopkins style, here’s the checklist:
1. Mentally Deprogram
Stop assuming things “can’t happen here.” History laughs at that assumption. They’ve been happening. They are happening.
2. Clarify Your Red Lines
Decide now: What’s your line? What crosses it? Define it while you’re calm—because chaos is a poor environment for clear thinking.
3. Secure Your Communications
VPNs. Signal. ProtonMail. Get off public channels when discussing anything sensitive.
4. Build Local Community
You won’t fight federal overreach alone. Align with neighbors. Local support matters more than national noise.
5. Document Everything
Videos. Photos. Screenshots. Evidence is your best defense in an age where truth is malleable.
6. Stay Grounded
This is emotional warfare. They want you exhausted…confused…and reactive. Your best weapon? Clear…calm defiance.
Final Word
Presidents don’t ask “Should I?” when invoking power. They ask, “Can I get away with it?”
The Insurrection Act is no longer unthinkable. It’s likely. And it’s closer than the news cycle dares to admit.
But we don’t cower. We don’t conform. We don’t go quietly.
We prepare. We watch. We remember who we are.
And if they try to use our cities as stages for authoritarian theater…we remind them that the script only works if the audience stays silent.
Not this time.
Not us.
Now…let’s discuss what I feel is the most important aspect of this for the average human being. It’s also, without question, my forte…and area of expertise.
Stay Calm or Get Crushed – The Mental Game of Survival
Let’s make something clear right out of the gate:
Panic is profitable—to the media, to power-hungry politicians, and to the puppeteers who sell solutions to problems they manufacture. But to you? Panic is lethal.
So if you want to survive not just physically…but financially…mentally…and emotionally in what’s coming—you need to become unshakable.
Not woo-woo. Not yoga-in-the-park. I’m talking about real-world…evidence-based…psychologist-backed clarity under pressure—with all the swagger and sharpness of a Jack Hopkins trained defender of democracy in the middle of a firestorm.
Here’s what you need to know:
Why Panic Works (For Them, Not You)
Psychologists from Stanford to Harvard have studied fear for decades.
The consensus? When fear spikes…critical thinking plummets. Blood drains from your frontal cortex and moves into fight-or-flight zones.
Translation: you stop thinking like a razor sharp human being and start reacting like a caveman.
That’s what they want.
They want you impulsive. Clicking. Scrolling. Screaming. Getting fearfully attached to their fear-based programming. Because a mind in panic can’t build. It can only buy or beg.
But that’s not us. That’s not you.
So What Do You Do?
You adopt the tools of elite mental athletes…mixed with a marketer’s grit. You install systems that let you override chaos—even when the world looks like it’s burning.
And because I’m Jack Hopkins, I’m not giving you recycled advice from some airport self-help book. I’m giving you the cutting-edge…underused…but battle-tested tools top psychologists recommend when high performers face hell.
My entire adult life has been immersed in psychology and human behavior for a reason…I was so powerfully drawn to it that I almost didn’t even have a choice; it was meant to be.
Okay. Let’s break them down.
1. Use Interoceptive Awareness (Yeah, You Read That Right)
This isn’t meditation. It’s mental weaponry. Interoception is the science of being aware of your internal state. Navy SEALs are trained to recognize shifts in breath… pulse…and gut feel. Why?
Because early awareness of stress gives you control before it hijacks you.
Try This: Every 90 minutes, stop and ask: Where’s my breath? Am I clenched? How’s my heart rate?
When you catch stress before it peaks…you keep your edge. Miss it? You spiral.
2. Practice “Cognitive Overload Training”
Elite soldiers and top athletes train their focus under chaotic conditions. Why don’t we?
Do this: Read one paragraph of dense writing out loud while doing wall sits or holding a plank. You’ll feel the tug of distraction. The goal? Stay clear while stressed.
The more you do things like this, the more you find yourself able to handle tasks in the middle of chaos. Almost no one does this naturally.
However, you can become someone who is able to…by practicing and conditioning your brain and nervous system to do so.
It rewires the brain to stay sharp in pressure. The military uses this. So should you.
3. Control Input Like a “BOSS”
Your phone is the enemy. Not always. But during times of volatility? It’s a trigger factory.
Pro move: For the first hour of your day…your phone stays off. Period. Neuroscientists call this “cognitive sovereignty.” I call it not letting some moron on Twitter/X control your blood pressure before coffee.
Create before you consume. Think before you scroll. Otherwise? You’re not living. You’re reacting.
4. Use the Hopkins Method: Power Rituals
I don’t care if you light a cigar…walk in circles…or recite Latin. But rituals that anchor your day—same time…same tone…same tempo—give you psychological leverage.
Psychologist BJ Fogg calls this “anchoring.” I call it waking up like a force to be reckoned with with.
5. Rehearse Scenarios—Then Rehearse the Win
You don’t rise to the occasion. You sink to the level of your training.
Olympic psychologists teach “cognitive rehearsal”—mental simulations of the exact high-stakes situations you fear…followed immediately by a vivid internal victory.
Don’t just worry. Rehearse. With detail. With swagger.
6. Embody Calm. Physiology First.
Forget mindset. That’s downstream. Fix the hardware first.
• Slow breath = slow brain = strategic action.
• Eyes wide = panic. Soft focus = control.
• Shoulders back = serotonin-relaxed confidence. Hunched = defeat.
The brain listens to the body. Show it strength.
7. Build a Daily Win Stack
Fear shrinks you. Small victories rebuild you.
Make your bed? That’s a win. Write your emails? Win. Decline a useless argument online? Big damn win.
Stack 5 wins before lunch. Suddenly, the world’s noise? It’s just static.
Bottom Line
They want you afraid. They want you weak. They want you confused so they can “offer clarity.”
But fear is the enemy of strategy.
If you’re going to fight for your country…your rights…your family…your business—you need to keep your head when others lose theirs.
That means using tools that sharpen your edge. That means upgrading your mental operating system. That means acting with certainty in uncertainty.
Because here’s the truth:
Calm is a competitive advantage. Clarity is a weapon. And fear? Fear is just another funnel you didn’t opt into.
Hold the line. Stand your ground. And above all—stay dangerous…even when the world begs you to panic.
When the Storm Hits, This Is What You Say—and What You Do
Listen, I’m not some influencer feeding you bumper-sticker empathy. I’m a strategist. And right now…strategy demands something radical: composure.
So let’s clear the smoke. Here’s what I’d tell you if we were sitting across from each other…face to face…no cameras…no filters:
I believe in you—not in a vague…Hallmark-card way—but because I know you and I are built from the same damn steel.
You feel this moment in your gut because you're supposed to. You're not crazy. You're tuned in. You're awake.
That makes you my brother. My sister. My peer in the trenches.
Take a breath—four seconds in, slow count of eight out. That’s not fluff. That’s control. You own that breath. Which means you own you.
You do that enough times and you start to realize: nobody owns you. Not this government. Not this chaos. Not fear.
Do it right now. Do it often. You’ll be glad you did. It’s a trigger reset. It’s armor.
And yes—I am committed. Committed to keeping you clear…calm…and sharp as a damn razor. That’s what this newsletter is. It’s a war room disguised as a dispatch.
Stick with me…and we’ll ride this out like generals…not victims. We’ll come out not just informed—but battle-hardened thinkers who don’t blink.
He’s going to declare Martial Law. Maybe not tonight. But it’s coming. You know it. I know it. You can’t stop it.
What you can do is decide right now that your mind and body won’t be part of their campaign.
You control your reactions. You control your discipline. You control your narrative.
I spent nearly 30 years teaching high performers how to steel themselves in a storm. That wasn’t random. It was prep for this very moment.
You were meant to be here too. You have a role.
You’re not just reading this for comfort. You’re reading it because something inside you is ready to lead.
I’m glad you’re here. I mean that.
We don’t scare easy. We don’t back down. We’re the ones who remember who we are when the whole world forgets.

Jack, I'm with you all the way here. My observation tonight is if this spreads to other cities, and I think it will, because that's what DJT and Steven Miller want and it will put this economy in a strait jacket, first hit tourism and that has already slowed but it will come to a screeching halt because foreigners will be afraid to come here for a whole host of reasons and there goes hotel, airline, and theme parks, the revenue list is long. Their foolishness is driving this economy into a ditch and that will be their undoing. There are too many of us that won't put up with this shit and not enough of them.
Thanks for the tips and I don't exactly do everything you suggest, but I do practice keeping a cool head. I give myself time during the day to move on and think and do other things to fight the fatigue of war, because that's what this is.
Hi Jack, I have been following you since the bird app and have always enjoyed your take on things. This article had many important points that really spoke to me. I am already doing some of the things you suggested such as the breathing exercises. Now, I will not touch my phone in the first hour of the day too! So simple, yet so effective. Thank you.
