Blantenly corrupt this donation.. the Psuedo Congressional Republicans (alias the Fascist GOP) scurry away..' No comment ' as they run down the hallways of Congress. All corrupt traitors who are voluntarily Fascist weasels in 2025- each chock full of
You nailed it, Lillian...the silence speaks volumes. When power hides behind “no comment,” it’s not confusion, it’s consent.
The corruption isn’t subtle anymore...it’s strutted down the hallway in broad daylight. Every dodge...every smirk...every closed door just confirms how deep the rot runs.
They run from the media and can’t answer the questions without a gaslit response. MAGA responses to the ballroom are crazy. They think it’s great. Same with private money funding troops. This is truly insane. I think I say that every day. That or “fucked up.”
Yes, Jane! It’s not just corruption...it’s normalization of it. They can’t defend the indefensible...so they dodge...distract...or gaslight. And the worst part? Their followers cheer it. The more outrageous it gets...the more it proves how deep the delusion runs.
To think it all would’ve been easier and perhaps cheaper for the oligarchs to just pay their fair share of taxes to begin with, our country wouldn’t have had to go through this mess.
In addition to appearances, I read that the amount comes to $100 per person. A nice tip but not a salary. The problem with non profits and charities as a whole is that the actions are applauded and they are also tax deductible. Much better would be a society where we pay taxes so the needs are supplied and accountability is monitored. We only need to look up on the president's own nonprofit for vets years ago to see how little goes to vets. Typical GOP rationale.
Yes, indeed, Jack, “Who gave approval?” I am so glad you asked that question and shared much more!
How can we see that our budget or spending is returned rightfully to Congress, that The House convenes pronto and behaves properly, that we can implant a good conscience into the people who are supposedly working for us and are lacking one now, and that we get our country back on the proper track with the common caring of our population and the will to pay attention, understand, and act accordingly?
I appreciate all of your suggestions. For some of us, contacting the right person in the House does nothing more than let our words fall on deaf ears. We are not represented. However, with the spreadsheet of contact information I have seen shared in Robert Reich’s substack at times, I have also seen the suggestion for people to call after hours to every representative and every senator. By calling at such a time, it is possible to leave a message for representatives who are from other districts and states. Calling during hours does not work if a caller is not from that district, because the zip code is requested before a message may be left.
I certainly do see areas of concern to be addressed when we reach the point of strengthening our Constitution or our laws as we preserve our Constitution and find ways of seeing that it is followed. We have so much to accomplish before we can reach that point.
What can our military people do regarding surviving on the mere hundred dollars or so from this donation in lieu of official pay, and how can they use it without an obligation to be or to feel that they are being bought by an extended hand of the person who seems to be taking it upon himself to accept large sums of money from certain people, seemingly in essence of being bribed to refuse to release the Epstein files and to do everything he can think of to divert attention and to keep himself permanently, during his lifetime, in the position he wrongfully intends to make all powerful by any means?
Besides being blatantly corrupt and illegal, Mellon has ties to Jeffrey Epstein. He is also ‘friends’ with Trump. Maybe some coercion from Trump to keep congress out so that Grijalva will not be seated and bring the needed 218 vote for the discharge petition. Maybe a little hands-y to allow Trump to pardon Ghislaine so that he keeps her flap trap shut? So many questions , so much muck! Yes, I believe this all comes back to Epstein and the wealth that corrupted our girls.
Thus, dependence on private funding wills loyalty to the funder, not to citizens. Who serves whom then? A noble gesture turns democracy on its head. Self fulfilling prophecy leading sworn soldiers into power traps. Self serving generosity to purchase an army. It’s real and very dystopian.
Just like Julius Cesar in Rome. When he came back triumphant fromGaul, the troops he brought were no longer tied to the Roman Empire but were Julius’s own. So were loyal only to him. That way he could threaten the Roman Senate and they let him have his knowing he had troops loyal to him alone to back up his power.
To clarify and give credit to the creator of the spreadsheet, her name is Megan Rothery. She suggests bypassing the barrier of not being a constituent of some senators snd representatives by calling thir state offices after hours, snd explaining that while you might not be a constituent from their state, you have a great concern regarding …. Leave the message concerning your topic, and thst way you can reach the ears of the senstorscdnd representatives.
Here is the link to a spreadsheet created by and shared by Megan Rothery. It contains contact information for members of Congress and the Cabinet.
Correction: The men pictured in the photo I used for this issue of JHN, are...
Left-Thomas Alexander Mellon-founder of the family's banking empire.
Top right- Richard Beatty Mellon, Thomas's son.
Bottom right-William Larimer Mellon Sr., Thomas's son. He founded Gulf Oil in 1901.
Center-Andrew William Mellon, Thomas's son. U.S. Sec. from 1921-1932

It is incomprehensible that anybody could fall for such words and actions!
To think it all would’ve been easier and perhaps cheaper for the oligarchs to just pay their fair share of taxes to begin with, our country wouldn’t have had to go through this mess.
They do it to buy silence and self skin-saving.

Yes call any Senator about this because the Senate could be dissolved just like the House has been.
Just like Julius Cesar in Rome. When he came back triumphant fromGaul, the troops he brought were no longer tied to the Roman Empire but were Julius’s own. So were loyal only to him. It’s blatant bullshit. Nothing good about it.
And what’s even more galling, I understand that the “donation” only works out to about $100USD per service member. That’s a pittance!
But it’s enough for this “great patriot” to get his pay-to-play access, isn’t it? 🤬
