We Did It.
The Jack Hopkins Now Newsletter Election Night Note: Tuesday, November 3rd, 2026.
For months I’ve ended every post with those two words: #HoldFast Tonight you get to see what they were for.
Democrats have taken the House. Democrats have taken the Senate. A blue wave the size of which the people in power swore couldn’t happen…just rolled over them while they were still telling you it was impossible.
Take a breath. Feel it. You earned it.
I mean that literally. Not “we” in the vague way politicians say it. You. The person reading this at midnight…with your phone in one hand and a drink in the other, who’s been in this fight long enough to remember what losing felt like.
You didn’t quit when they told you the system was rigged. You didn’t quit when they sued to block a Senate race before the votes were counted. You didn’t quit when agents showed up at election offices and the people running them were told to be afraid.
You knocked doors. You drove people to the polls. You argued with your brother-in-law at Thanksgiving and went back for more at Christmas. You read the hard stuff when it would have been easier to look away.
You did the work. And tonight…the work paid.
I want to say something about this newsletter, too…because you’re part of why it exists.
When I started Jack Hopkins Now, the idea was simple: no spin, no weeds, hit it head-on and tell you what’s actually happening so you could act on it. You showed up.
Then…you brought people. Then…you started writing me back…and some of the sharpest analysis I’ve read this year…came from your comments, not from cable.
This community built itself around one belief: that paying attention is a form of fighting…and that fighting works.
Tonight is the proof.
Now…the hard part. Because I’d be lying to you if I stopped here.
Things may get harder before they get easier. Maybe a lot harder. A man who just lost both chambers still has the plans on his desk and ten weeks before anyone new is seated.
I’ve been pointing at this window all week. It didn’t close tonight. It may have gotten more dangerous. The next two months will test whether what we built can hold under real pressure.
Here’s what I know. The same people who did the work this year…will do the work next year. That’s not hope. That’s a track record, and you just wrote it.
I’ll be here every day of it. The day it happens…not a week later. Just like tonight.
So celebrate. You’ve earned every second of it. And…tomorrow morning, when the noise starts again…come here first. We’ve got a lot to watch, and I’ve never been prouder of who I’m watching it with.
Thank you. For never giving up. For always pushing forward. For proving that holding fast was never about waiting.
It was about this.
#HoldFast
Back soon.

P.S. One more thing, and then go celebrate. Tonight’s wave started in a lot of small places: a kitchen table, a group chat, a comment section where somebody said “I’m not giving up” and somebody else said “me neither.”
Some of those places were right here. Over the next ten weeks, the people I’m writing for aren’t going to get the real story from a chyron. They’re going to get it from me, the day it happens, the way it happened tonight. The ones standing closest get it first. If you’ve been thinking about stepping in a little closer, there’s never been a better night to do it.

Thank you Jack for forging a community that learned from each other, supported one another, and learned our hidden strengths. Tonight is a night to celebrate! Bask in the joy of it, because we still have more fights to come. We have each other to #HOLDFAST with!
Jack!!!! I give a great big determined yahoo to you and all of us!!! I love the “we” in getting this done. Now, WE will keep at it.
