Trump’s Surgeon General Just Turned on Him…and RFK Jr. Is the Flashpoint
The Surgeon General’s warning isn’t just about RFK Jr. It’s about Trump’s endgame.
The Jack Hopkins Now Newsletter #527: Saturday, September 6th, 2025.
The Crack You Weren’t Supposed to See
In authoritarian regimes…the first cracks don’t show up where you expect.
They don’t always come from the opposition party. They don’t come from the mainstream press. They don’t come from foreign governments wagging their fingers.
The cracks that matter come from inside the walls.
And earlier…a crack ripped wide open.
Jerome Adams…Trump’s own former Surgeon General…the man who once stood shoulder-to-shoulder with him during COVID briefings…publicly called for Trump to fire his own HHS Secretary…RFK Jr.
Not whispering. Not hinting. Not leaking.
He said it loud and clear: RFK Jr.’s vaccine policies are dangerous. The CDC is in chaos. Trump is gambling with public health…and the chips on the table are American lives.
This isn’t a side story. It’s not “inside baseball.” It’s a warning flare in the night sky. Because when Trump’s own Surgeon General says the system is collapsing under Trump’s chosen maniac…you’d better believe we’re staring straight at the authoritarian playbook in action.
Why This Flashpoint Matters
Most people shrug at Cabinet drama.
They shouldn’t.
Because Cabinet positions are power slots. They control budgets…armies of bureaucrats…rule-making authority that can alter millions of lives without a single vote in Congress.
Health and Human Services isn’t just a desk job. It’s the agency that oversees:
The CDC.
The FDA.
Medicare and Medicaid.
NIH.
A trillion-dollar slice of the U.S. economy.
Put the wrong man in that chair…and it’s not just policy that crumbles. It’s your medical care…your prescriptions…your kids’ vaccines…your very ability to trust that the water isn’t poisoned and the air isn’t toxic.
Trump didn’t just put the wrong man in that chair. He put RFK Jr….a man whose brand is chaos…conspiracy…and sabotage.
And now…the Surgeon General who once carried water for Trump is saying: This is dangerous.
That’s not a policy disagreement. That’s an alarm bell.
The Hopkins Translation: What’s Really Going On
Let’s cut the fat.
This isn’t about vaccines. It’s not about the CDC being in chaos. Those are the surface-level arguments. The TV-chyrons. The distraction.
Here’s what it’s really about: Trump is weaponizing chaos itself.
He knows RFK Jr. is toxic. That’s the point. He knows putting an anti-vax crusader in charge of HHS would destabilize the entire public health apparatus. That’s the point. He knows the CDC will be in chaos…experts will quit…trust will collapse.
That’s the point.
Authoritarians don’t strengthen institutions. They rot them from the inside out.
Hitler stacked ministries with party loyalists and lunatics.
Mussolini handed key posts to thugs who couldn’t govern but could intimidate.
Putin loads his government with sycophants who enrich themselves while hollowing out the state.
Trump is no different. He didn’t put RFK Jr. in HHS because he believes in him. He put him there because he knew it would accelerate the collapse of institutional trust.
Because a population that trusts nothing is easier to control.
Jerome Adams: From Loyal Soldier to Canary in the Coal Mine
Jerome Adams isn’t some left-wing crusader. He’s not Rachel Maddow. He’s not Bernie Sanders. He’s not even Mitt Romney.
He’s a man who stood at Trump’s podium…defended Trump’s administration…and carried his messaging during one of the ugliest public health disasters in modern memory.
And yet…this week…Adams went on record saying RFK Jr. is a public health disaster in the making and Trump should fire him.
That’s huge.
Because when insiders defect…it’s never just about policy. It’s about survival. Adams knows his reputation is on the line. He knows history is being written in real time. He knows when this thing collapses…and it will…everyone who stayed silent will be remembered as complicit.
Adams just chose not to be complicit.
And that should scare the hell out of Trump.
The RFK Jr. Factor: Chaos as a Feature…Not a Bug
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has built his brand on undermining public health. He’s a chaos agent wrapped in the borrowed gravitas of a famous last name.
Putting him in charge of HHS is like putting an arsonist in charge of the fire department.
And Trump knew exactly what he was doing.
This isn’t incompetence. It’s sabotage disguised as governance.
RFK Jr. sows distrust in vaccines? Perfect…it weakens public health infrastructure.
RFK Jr. clashes with CDC scientists? Perfect…it drives them out and hollows the agency.
RFK Jr. destabilizes Medicare policy? Perfect…it creates the crisis Trump needs to justify more authoritarian control.
Every strongman needs chaos. RFK Jr. is chaos in a suit.
Why You Should Care…Even If You Hate Bureaucrats
Some people shrug. “Good, let the CDC burn. They’re corrupt anyway.”
That’s the trap.
When institutions collapse…who steps in? Not “the people.” Not grassroots reformers. Not truth-tellers.
Authoritarians step in. They replace public infrastructure with personal loyalty networks.
You don’t get scientists calling the shots. You get cronies. You get enforcers. You get people who will suppress data…lie about outbreaks…and funnel contracts to loyalists.
And while you’re celebrating the “collapse of bureaucracy,” what you’re really watching is the rise of dictatorship.
Imagine the Personal Cost
Picture this.
You wake up tomorrow…and the CDC isn’t trusted. Doctors are quitting. Misinformation is policy. Your insurance premiums skyrocket because Medicare is collapsing. Drug shortages hit because FDA approvals are politicized.
And when you complain…you’re labeled “anti-Trump”…and suddenly your account is flagged…your audit notice arrives…and your coverage disappears.
That’s not science fiction. That’s the road authoritarian regimes take.
And RFK Jr. at HHS is the on-ramp.
Why Adams’ Break Is Explosive
Here’s why Jerome Adams’ break is such a bombshell:
It validates what critics have said all along: Trump isn’t just reckless…he’s deliberate in undermining government.
It gives cover for other insiders to break ranks. When one domino falls…others follow.
It pierces the illusion of unity. Authoritarians survive on the myth that “everyone is on board.” When cracks show…loyalty fractures.
That’s why Trump will come after Adams with everything he’s got. Because nothing terrifies an authoritarian more than insiders breaking silence.
What Comes Next
Don’t think this ends with Adams.
Once insiders start defecting…it snowballs. Expect more leaks. More resignations. More public calls for Trump to fire his own appointees.
The chaos inside will mirror the chaos Trump sows outside. That’s the authoritarian cycle.
And while Trump’s base cheers the spectacle…the system itself rots.
Until the only thing left standing is Trump.
The Bottom Line
This isn’t about one Cabinet fight. It’s not about vaccines…or the CDC… or even Jerome Adams.
It’s about the authoritarian playbook unfolding in plain sight.
Trump installs chaos agents like RFK Jr. to destroy institutional trust. Insiders like Adams…seeing the writing on the wall…finally break ranks. And in the wreckage… Trump positions himself as the only authority left.
That’s how dictatorships are built. Not with a single coup…but with a thousand engineered collapses.
The question isn’t whether you’ll notice. The question is whether you’ll do something about it before your country becomes unrecognizable.

But by Trump firing him, that means in Trump's mind (and publicly) he was wrong...and Trump can't do that. He can never admit he made a mistake. So unless Trump can find a way to spin it or give RFK a different position, it's not going to happen. Seriously, when even some of the GOP are questioning RFK, we have entered uncharted waters.
He can take that worthless evil POS Ladapo from Florida with him. He's more like a voodoo/witch quak, uh, Doctor.
We need more speaking out. We need those current regime cronies to call out death that will be happening.
