Let me tell you about the greatest sales technique ever invented.
It isn’t the hard close. It isn’t the fake deadline. It isn’t the guy in the plaid jacket slapping the hood of a Buick.
It’s the test mailing.
Here’s how it works. The direct sales marketers don’t roll out a million pieces on a hunch. They’d go broke.
Instead…they drop five thousand into the mail…cheap…quiet…in a market nobody’s watching. They see what comes back. If the phones ring…they back up the truck and mail the whole list.
And if the phones don’t ring?
They never mailed it. They never heard of it. What list?
That’s the beauty of a test. It costs them almost nothing to find out…and nothing at all to deny.

What Happened Tuesday
Just past midnight on Tuesday morning…Donald Trump sat for an interview on Real America’s Voice with a host named Wayne Allyn Root.
Root did not ask a question. Root made a pitch.
He told the President that since the Senate can’t get the SAVE America Act across the finish line…since they’re on recess…since they never do anything…the President has the right to declare a national security emergency over elections. Do it in the next month…Root said…and you get photo ID…you get proof of citizenship…you get a limit on mail-in ballots.
And…you don’t need the Senate’s help.
Trump cut him off. And said this:
“Let me just say stranger things have happened, okay? I’ll leave it at that.”
Five thousand pieces. Dropped in the mail. Just past midnight. On a friendly channel. In a room with nobody in it…but a guy who already agreed with him.
Now…let’s see what comes back.
