Oh my gosh, Jack, a ray of hope! Yes, I understand Tillis is retiring. But it's something. How many more Republicans who are retiring will have the guts to step up with him? The thing that really chaps my hide is I know, I KNOW there are other GOP who feel the same way but are completely buffaloed by the monster in the White House and his vampire brother. God, I hate living like this!
Thank you so much for this...it really means a lot, Jan.
I totally feel what you’re saying. It’s a tiny crack...but when someone like Tillis speaks out... even on his way out the door...iit gives us something to work with.
And yes, it’s maddening to know there are others...so many others...who feel the same way but are too terrified to stand up until they’re safely packing up their offices.
What really gets me is that some of them know better. They know the danger. They know the cost. But they’re paralyzed by fear of the monster in the White House and his whole power machine. It’s not just frustrating...it’s exhausting to live with that looming over everything.
You’re not alone in this. And I really appreciate you being here...staying engaged...and holding onto that sliver of hope. Sometimes that’s what keeps us going.
How many of the Republican Senators are over 75? They could be lying on the beach in Hawaii next year and collecting their pensions. I cannot imagine being that addicted to power. 👹
Such a great point! It really does make you wonder...how many of them could be retired... sipping something cold on a beach somewhere...completely free from this mess?
And yet, they cling to power like it’s oxygen. It’s wild to see that kind of addiction up close...especially when they’ve already secured their pensions...their influence...their legacies.
I think for some of them...it’s not even about policy anymore...it’s just the thrill of control...the fear of irrelevance...and the inability to walk away. It’s honestly kind of sad in its own way.
Thanks so much for this, Rachel...I really appreciate you being here and thinking this stuff through with me.
Thank you so much for doing that, Mo...I love how you put it: “Use it, or lose it.”
That’s exactly the kind of no-nonsense urgency they need to hear. I really appreciate you helping push this out where it needs to go.
Every time we amplify these messages...we increase the chances that someone in power actually gets the wake-up call. Grateful to have you in this fight!

I just restacked this on Twitter, to the attention of DNC Democrats and Senate Democrats
I told them to “ use it, or lose it”
