They Had Eulogies for Graham. Nothing for His Victims.
While ICE agents put bodies in the street, the Democratic Party lined up to remember what a delightful golf partner the man who funded it was.

Let me tell you what I watched this weekend…and why it turned my stomach.
Lindsey Graham died Saturday. And within hours…hours…the biggest names in the Democratic Party lined up to tell us what a delight the man was.
Adam Schiff will remember his sense of humor. Said he was “never disagreeable.” Elizabeth Warren remembered his wit, his willingness to negotiate, and sent her heart out to his loved ones. Mark Warner never doubted his patriotism. Warm. Gracious. Bipartisan. Tasteful.
And completely…insultingly tone-deaf.
Here’s the part the eulogies skipped.
Graham chaired the Senate Budget Committee. He ran the reconciliation machine that shoveled billions into the immigration crackdown…the very crackdown whose agents shot a man dead in Houston last week for the crime of driving his work crew to a job site. Wrong guy. No body cameras. Then another body in Maine, days later.
He didn’t “disagree agreeably.” He helped write the Goddamn check. Knowingly. Willingly. With a handshake and that famous wit…everyone’s suddenly so misty about.
So when Warren’s heart goes out to his loved ones, I’ve got one question: where’s the post for the loved ones of the people his budget helped bury? Where’s that eulogy?
This is the whole disease…distilled into one weekend. Their own voters are watching masked agents kill citizens in the street…and the party’s response is to reminisce about golf-buddy collegiality with the man who financed it.
They think we want them gracious. We don’t. We want them ANGRY. We want them to fight like it’s the emergency it actually is.
You want to know why the Democratic brand is in the gutter? This bullshit…this is why. A party that mistakes politeness for principle…and calls it “reaching across the aisle”…while the other side reaches across to point the guns.
Graham played the game to the end. His eulogists are still playing it.
That’s not class. That’s surrender…with good manners.

P.S. Here’s something for the people you encounter who say, "have some respect, the man just died.”
See, I've got respect… buckets of it…for the guy in Houston who was driving his crew to work when a federal agent put a bullet through his windshield.
I've got respect for the ICU nurse and the young mother this crackdown already put in the ground.
Respect is a finite resource…and I'm spending mine on the people who didn't get a Senate tribute…a flag at half-staff…or a single warm word from the party that's supposed to be on their side.
Graham got his eulogies. I'm writing theirs. If that offends someone more than the body count does…they’ve told you everything you need to know about them..

Evil people can have a sense of humor. It just puts them in the class of “The Joker”. It doesn’t erase the evil.
Reassuring to see this spelled out how Graham’s work led to many deaths of innocents. Let’s light the candles for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, Alex Pretti, Renee Good and many others. When I shed tears for a stranger, it is for someone who lived a good life.
