If Russ Vought’s in the room, Karen, Hell’s running on autopilot. 🔥

Appreciate you big-time...thank you for the kind words and the reStack. I’m on this thread because the “policy shop” is the command center for the whole operation.

What is P2025 Christian Nationalist end game? Everyone has to be a Christian? Only White Males in positions of authority? All white women of child bearing age have to be pregnant all the time with no healthcare - tough it out and die as long as they get a white baby? All folks of color work as slaves in factories and fields? All women of color have to be pregnant all the time to turn out more workers? USA only makes products for the country - and doesn't sell overseas? Stopping all or most imports? I'm struggling to understand the hellscape they're unleashing and to what end? It's not going to turn out like they want it to in their Christo-Fasicst dreamscape. P2025 and Christo-Fascists want to destroy our country and democracy for what exactly? Money, Control, Power? all the above? And the rest of us not in power are slaves? Thoughts from anyone?

Totally get the question, Michelle...and the fury. Quick...clear take:

What’s the endgame? Not “everyone becomes Christian.” It’s minority rule wrapped in religious branding. Think a rigid hierarchy with a “biblical” paint job:

Power: consolidate in the executive, obedient courts, and a politicized bureaucracy.

Control: police the private sphere...reproduction...gender roles...schooling...books... speech.

Patriarchy: restore male authority as “order,” with women’s autonomy narrowed and LGBTQ people erased from law.

Punishment: criminalize dissent via protest restrictions...surveillance...and selective prosecution.

Extraction: deregulate for donors...crush labor...channel public money to favored churches...“family” nonprofits...and private contractors.

Why? All of the above....power...money...and social dominance. The theology is the marketing; the goal is control.

What their model looks like in policy:

Federalize a Christian-nationalist identity through agencies...curricula...and grants.

Reverse reproductive rights; restrict contraception/IVF access by regulation.

Weaponize “religious liberty” to override civil-rights protections.

Purge the civil service; replace expertise with loyalty.

Use state preemption and courts to lock policies in even when they lose elections.

Will it “work”? Briefly...until backlash...brain drain...and economic underperformance hit. Authoritarian social engineering always breaks supply chains...public health...and legitimacy. They can rule by fear for a while...but...they can’t make it function.

What we do (now):

Localize the fight: school boards...statehouses...AGs...where most of this is enforced.

Starve the pipeline: expose/deter the funding vehicles (pass-through “family” orgs...state grants).

Shield the targets: legal funds for doctors...teachers...librarians...journalists.

Make them pay a price: boycotts...advertiser pressure...shareholder resolutions.

Win the procedural game: RCV/open primaries...court-watching...records suits...ballot measures.

Bottom line: it’s hierarchy over democracy. We beat it with sunlight...lawfare...and turnout...everywhere it’s enforced. Keep your fire; aim it where it counts.

As a one-man operation, unfortunately, I don't have time to go this in-depth on every reply I write. That said, I'm so glad I did in response to your questions, as anyone who has read this reply all the way through will know far more about Project 2025...and how to fight it, than 90% of the people on the planet...and that's a damn good thing.

Thank you for commenting! I wrote it because P2025 isn’t sustainable medium or long term, even if they’re able to shove most of it down our throats. They were smart enough for the long game decades ago, which paid off for them for now. But as you state & I agree it is not sustainable and we’re all going to suffer until we reach enough resistance mass to turn the tide. I’d love to call the P2025 architects & followers, stupid; but look how far they got. Massive restructuring of our three branches is needed to address real world changes by bad actors. Founders were intelligent but their intent has been perverted by decades of bad actors acting in bad faith, with nominal pushback by a weakened (from within?) Democrat party. I am following your advice, boycott, EM & writing to govt & corp leaders, donate where I can, etc. Thank you for helping all of us stay strong.

Jack, who can tie up these people in court? What States can bring civil and criminal actions? I feel like there’s an extreme lack of creativity in opposition to many of these unlawful actions. You are an advocate of strategy. Who do you know? Who can begin to put these fascists under investigation or legal watch?

Expand full comment
Jack Hopkins's avatar

Great question, Robbie....and you’re right: there’s a lot more creative lawfare available than most people deploy. Here’s the short, practical map of who can hit back, with what, and where (all lawful, above-board pressure).

Who can hit back:

State AGs (NY, CA, MA, MI, WI, PA, DC): consumer-protection, charities, public-integrity.

Local DAs: fraud, falsified records, public corruption.

IGs/GAO: procurement, impoundments → referrals.

Regulators: SEC/FEC/OSC/OGE, state ethics.

Public-interest firms: CREW, Protect Democracy, States United, Brennan Center, CLC.

Whistleblowers: federal/state False Claims Acts.

Legal levers:

UDAP deception, charities violations, procurement/grants abuse, APA suits, FOIA/state records, election/ethics, (fact-dependent) civil RICO.

Where to file:

State courts (NY/DC/CA) for UDAP/charities.

Federal district courts (APA/TROs).

DC courts (records/agency overreach).

Home-state venues where harm occurred.

How to activate (now):

Target + best document (contract, email, filing).

Send to CREW / States United / Protect Democracy / CLC or the relevant AG division.

Quick wins: FOIA suits, demand letters, APA stays, bid protests.

Bottom line: yes...there are aggressive...legal ways to tie up bad actors.

Excellent as always Jack. Sadly as a contractor for USFS I've been furloughed until these morons that still get paid, can pay their bills, mortgages, etc get their poop in 1 group. Russ Vought is evil like his twin Steven Miller & Trump is a deranged POS. I'M SO ANGRY right now that these M*****F*****S have ANY POWER in our lives. Especially the non elected soul suckers. Sorry for the rant.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, Lynn. Damnit. A shutdown punishes the people doing real work while the arsonists keep getting paid...it’s infuriating and you have every right to be pissed.

Two things, fast and practical:

Protect your income: Email your contracting officer today. Ask (in writing) about stop-work terms...equitable adjustments...and any partial payments for delivered milestones.

If you’re a sub...loop the prime. Document everything...time lost...mobilization costs... materials.

Those notes become your claim when the lights come back on.

Apply pressure where it hurts: Call your House member + both Senators and say exactly this is costing USFS capacity and local jobs.

Then hit the local paper/radio with a 150-word note: “Shutdown means fewer crews on our forests.” Real people → real pressure.

I’ll keep naming names...Vought...Miller... the unelected ideologues...because policy sabotage from the shadows is the whole game. Thank you for the rant and for the work you do. When you’re ready...drop me 3 bullets on how this furlough hits your day-to-day, and...I’ll fold it into a future piece so they can’t hide behind abstractions.

So good you were able to collect enough information to write a realistic article of just exactly what Vought is doing. Thank you, your hard work is certainly appreciated. This article needs to be reposted over and over to make sure everyone is aware of just who Vought is and what he is doing.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Thank you, S....that means a lot. Vought operates best in the shadows...sunlight is the antidote.

If you can...do three quick things:

Re-post and re-stack future JHN issues as soon as you read them; the algorithm rewards speed.

Pull-quote a killer line and share it with a short caption...it makes it more shareable.

Localize it (“Here’s how this hits our state/agency/town”)—that’s what moves fence-sitters.

I’ll keep digging. You keep amplifying. That’s how we turn receipts into results.

I appreciate you. I do.

That means a lot, Bill...thank you. I’m keeping my head clear and my routines tight: sleep...some physical activity...and mindful of what I shove into my mouth lol.

The work’s a grind...but I’m built for it...and notes like yours fuel the tank.

Stay safe..stay steady..and we’ll keep pushing together.

I am getting enough sleep...I'm just not doing anything else but researching and writing. I believe I'm doing the most important work of my, up til now...59 years on earth.

I've never done anything as satisfying and rewarding as this, in terms of feeling like I'm making some small difference. That feeling...all by itself...keeps me going.

Thanks again for asking, Bill!

P.S. I'm so fortunate to have a wife who not only loves me...but who stands by me and the amount of hours I work. I know she didn't sign up for this...and she realizes...that none of us did. But it arrived anyway. Thus...she knows she needs me to do what I do, and that I need her...to stand with me on this. So far...so good. :)

Jeezis, Jack, when do you sleep? As if that comes easy for anyone lately. I continue to share and spread your words everywhere I go, so much gets burned into my mind. It’s almost easy to lay it on folks who may or may not take time to listen, which I’d guess has been part of your mission all along. Just today I was on a call with the guy who handles my (redacted) and it sounded like he was, as are so many, just arriving to the party. Imagine my surprise when I just went off nonstop and I even felt as if I was landing a few.

What you tell us is essential for this to happen. At a recent family gathering it was much the same, and I knew my niece-in-law was not exactly down with reality. I hardly ever raise my voice but I was slightly surprised (and pleased) to hear myself dominating the table talk in no uncertain terms. At one point I was going to bang my shoe on the table and yell “they will bury you!” but at the moment it seemed a little over the top, and probably only a few would have gotten it.

I can see people looking around for my tinfoil hat, but when stuff like the AI analysis of the top brass leaks I might find out who is dining on crow.

I’m grinning reading this, Randy....this is exactly the mission. You took the tools and started using them!.

That’s how minds move: repetition...clarity...confidence.

Two quick power-ups for your next round:

Lead with the receipt. One undeniable fact → one plain-English consequence. Then pause. Let it land.

Bridge...don’t bludgeon. “If that’s true, what follows?” Walk them there and let them say it.

And yes...sleep is happening...just not much else...other than writing. For now...that seems to be how I can most effectively contribute...so....that's what I do.

You keep spreading the word; I’ll keep stocking your arsenal. Proud of you for taking the table.

Once again, I appreciate the kind words. Truly.
