DOOR, VIDEO, COURT. Thanks for this. Joyce Vance on Substack alerted her readers to this issue re warrants and went into detail. She is a former US attorney and now teaches law. She has been a good resource like you.

Teri, I love this: DOOR + VIDEO + COURT is exactly the right triad.

And yes: Joyce Vance is a SOLID resource. When a former U.S. Attorney is ringing the alarm on warrants...it’s worth treating as signal...not noise!

DOOR. Because in some states, once that door is breached, a person can legally kill the intruder. That's going to get messy in court

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Elaine, DOOR is the hinge...agreed.

But the “castle doctrine” logic gets complicated fast when the intruder is (or appears to be) law enforcement.

In many states you can’t use force to resist an arrest...even if the entry was unlawful...unless they use excessive force.

So...yes...it’s a legal minefield and a life-or-death risk. Best move: don’t open...don’t consent...demand a judge-signed warrant...record...verify via 911...then fight it in court.

Jack, I agree. Just that ICE isn't good about identifying themselves.

"DOOR (the home-entry memo); VIDEO (narrative vs footage as accelerant); COURT (lawsuit as hinge point)"

I'm not sure what we're supposed to be choosing; I think all three are incredibly important.

And I think it’s high time we all started reviewing “Hogan’s Heroes” as the field guide to resistance hiding beneath hijinks.

DOOR, long term consequences, most impact on citizens

Door. Once you breach the Castle Doctrine privacy/ sanctuary is over.

DOOR… because here in Arizona have a “Stand your ground” law. Our AG Kris Mayes (D) has been telling her critics that having ICE, with their lack of identification, running around grabbing people out of their homes will cause more deaths. We have a right to shoot anyone entering our homes without proper identification and Arizona is filled with gun owners.

DOOR. Most immediate consequence.

Excellent read and deliver, Jack!

When government builds traps into its own enforcement powers — warrants that become tools to bypass rights — the rule of law stops protecting citizens and starts preying on them. A democracy doesn’t survive on loopholes and hidden traps; it survives on transparency and accountability.

When it comes to claims like this, receipts matter. Video, court records, eyewitness testimony — that’s what tells the real story. Everything else is just rumor until it’s verified.
