When the video and the official story don’t match, the story isn’t “confusing.” It’s a lie.

And the educated — the people who can still think clearly — see exactly what this is: power, impunity, and propaganda.

There’s a huge divide in this country between those who need lies spoon-fed to them… and those of us who can see the truth with our own eyes.

This isn’t law enforcement.

It’s authoritarian violence — and a cover-up.

Rachel Bitecofer released a piece today that complements this nicely. It's worth a read, as she is highlighting the power of staying peaceful and documenting what we see: https://open.substack.com/pub/thecycle/p/a-video-is-worth-a-thousand-lies?r=e1i9b&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

The most important thing you said :"Emotion is information. It is not instruction." When you feel something ask yourself, what are you thinking "should" happen? Is that realistic? (No one else knows exactly what you are thinking or feeling. Expecting them to is UNrealistic. The government should not kill citizens, that is realistic.) Now you can make an action plan to deal with your feelings.

Thank you for laying out an action plan to deal with the anger and fear our own federal government is doing out. I addition, I plan to contact my state attorney General to ask what plans they have to deal with masked thugs violating our civil rights. States must act now, the Feds are out of control.

Suzie, you nailed it. Emotion tells you something is wrong...it doesn’t tell you what to do. Confusing the two is how people get played. And when Trump plays people...he plays them into the ground. We can't allow that.

You also did the grown-up move....converting feeling into specific...lawful pressure.

State AGs, civil rights enforcement...visibility...hat’s where leverage still exists. That’s action, not fantasy.

For the last decade, my superpower has been delayed gratification. It’s hard...especially in moments like this...when your mind screams "not now!" But...experience has taught me that times like this are EXACTLY when you’d better stop and ask if it’s the right move.

Ouch. Stay warm, Susan! Our furnace motor went out yesterday...and they had to order it. It's a little cooler in here than I prefer...but...we're making it work.

I’m back. For how long I don’t know but I’m relived for now. We were also without water which is really the worst thing. Stay warm. Our temps are going to plummet tonight and tomorrow but we’re okay. I see I’m 2 newsletters behind lol

George Orwell was spot on with his 1984 quote.

“ The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, MOST ESSENTIAL command” ‼️‼️‼️‼️

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Mo, Exactly. Orwell wasn’t warning about censorship first...he was warning about CONDITIONING. Once people are trained to distrust their own eyes and ears...power no longer needs force. It just needs REPETITION.

Great article as per usual Jack! You always find a way to top your previous essays….how do you do that?? Kudos again to a great inspiration, you keep me grounded and motivated when I need it the most. I should pay you as a therapist! #HOLDFAST

👍🥰❤️

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Elizabeth...thank you...truly. That means more than you probably realize.

I don’t top them by trying to be clever. I just write by staying honest about what I’m seeing... feeling...and learning in real time...and by refusing to let fear OR adrenaline take the wheel.

If this keeps you grounded...that tells me we’re doing something right TOGETHER.

And...no therapy invoices required. 😉
