Good one.

This may seem irrelevant but it kept chiming in as I was reading- I’ve been a repair tech most of my life (except for a ten year detour into IT, before it was even called that- but for another time.) So it must have been around 1988 I began to see computers infiltrating both autos and aircraft (certificated for those too) and it did not sit well. I think I knew it signaled a paradigm shift to complete reliance on tech, which also had a different meaning back then.

Despite some systems being vastly improved, like electronic fuel injection and the demise of carburetors, somehow I must have intuited was this was a very bad direction, at least and especially for the last of the hotrod generation. So much really expensive new equipment was required to even perform routine tasks I just bailed. And watched as they took over completely, and the DIY days were over. Along with autonomy. And for that matter, fun. Just like now.

It’s a stretch, but what we’re discussing here is directly connected. My shop was a mile away from Oracle headquarters, the looming buildings served to creep me out even though I barely knew what they were really all about. We often raced go-carts in the voluminous yet usually deserted parking lot and it always seemed to be in the shadow of those soulless towers. Cold and eerie.

The signs were all there, but I could not have ever conceived that they were soon and subtly leading the charge to remake the country into their self-serving dystopian fantasy world. Except it’s no longer fantasy.

That doesn’t seem irrelevant at all, Randy...it’s exactly relevant!

You were watching it happen at ground zero, before most people even knew what was being built. The moment when technology stopped serving us and started quietly managing us.

That’s the same current we’re tracking now...only the engines have changed from carburetors to code. You nailed the feeling: the loss of autonomy...the slow erosion of “DIY,” the cold hum of systems designed to replace people.

Thank you for sharing that. It’s voices like yours that connect the dots between what was freedom and what’s being sold to us as “progress.” Stay close...this next piece dives straight into how that shift became the blueprint for total control.

I get inspired sometimes.

Earlier than this anecdote I was on a race crew along with a gent who was one of the first employees of MaxTor (later Seagate) and I still remember asking, “what’s a hard drive?”

RSE: grrreat comment, I agree strongly with your thoughts and observations. You introduced autos, I would have introduced cooking and baking but the conclusions would have been the same or very similar. [I laugh when I see hard-boiled eggs for sale.]. Day to day activities are being (or have already been) taken over and some fun and senses of accomplishment / contribution have been lost. Thank you for taking the time to put that into words.

Thanks. And yeah, WTF, why does my dryer have Bluetooth and WiFi?

RIGHT?? Why can’t I get the leak in my sunroof fixed without a GD $200 “scan” of systems?? Just replace the seals or tape that shit shut and let me outta here!!

Thiel made J.D. Vance a Senator by investing millions into his campaign. Thiel "arranged" for J.D. Vance to be Trump's choice for VP. J.D. Vance is an empty vessel waiting for Thiel to pour something into it. When Trump dies or is removed from office, voila.

And I hate technology. We can't even operate our television without a step-by-step guide.

Thanks. This was needed to fill in the blanks and explains so much. I’m grateful for your research and analysis. Great, good work.

Jack, your post included ‘Antichrist’ several times but no mention Christian Nationalism (which, for me, was encouraging). Also, you made no mention of Judeo Christian beliefs which, for the most part can simply be “do unto others as you have them do unto you”, followed by a directive to study the respective book. Shall I infer that the billionaire thought leaders have left no room for Christian Nationalism as well as Judaism and main-stream Christianity? No Holy Spirit?

Very heavy comments on what sheeple will not discuss. Paranoia is this individuals mantra: to instill his fear to everyone. In Revelations (and I will not discuss the chapters here) it strongly appears the ‘AntiChrist’ is being monitored in the WH, ruled by technocrats. PT is one of them. Religion is not my strength yet, signs are everywhere. Stay aware, strong, breathe, keep calm, cool, and collected. Times are more like the Mayan Calendar. Note: They used a 60 point mathematical system. Think about that. Peace.

Thank you, Jack, for this eye opening discussion. I can see all this slowly unfolding here in Europe, the so-called “Old World.” We need to be vigilant and aware of the positive and negative developments occurring in real life around us at the present moment, the here and now…because what you describe is actually unfolding before our eyes right now, the continuous present. There’s no time for denials or hand wringing…it’s time to get fired up and get moving.

Quite honestly, I can’t determine whether Jabba or Thiel himself is the modern Antichrist. It’s beginning to look like Jabba is more like the anti-John the Baptist - messenger and forerunner. Either way, your article is spot on.

I remember in college in the 80's one of my professors in the masters program talked about all the little fish being bought up by the big fish and how that would limit our choices in life...well that has truly happened over the following years to now. The small mm and pop places can barely survive and the tariffs our loser in chief has put on things has just about annihilated these people businesses. I feel for all the little people that just want to make a living and stop being harassed but the haters.
