Jack, I love your use of the word "arsenal". Cause that's what it's going to take to right the ship at this point.

Thank you so much...Greg...I’m glad that word landed with you! You’re exactly right...it’s going to take a full arsenal to right this ship.

Not just one tool...not just one message...but a whole stack of strategies...stories... pressure points...and people pushing in the same direction.

We’re way past the point of soft taps...it’s time to bring everything we’ve got. I’m so grateful to have you in this fight with me. Let’s keep building that arsenal together.

Our choices for push back are coming down to just one. It's going to take some force to right the ship. We, myself included are going to have to get off the fucking couch. Those rallies I've been to are just small steps. Now we must start running.

Jack, I’m not worried but I am definitely concerned. A Supreme Court ruling like this can be used by both “sides”. A Texas judge was the go to guy for right wing Republicans. Now he is neutered. Yes, trump is ready to take advantage of the new law, no doubt, and we will have to decide how to deal with his playing fast and loose with our lives.

Thank you so much for this, Libby....what a smart and balanced take. You’re absolutely right to point out that a ruling like this cuts both ways.

It’s not just a loss for one side...it shifts the entire legal landscape...and now the very tools that were once used as a right-wing weapon could just as easily be blunted or redirected.

And yes, Trump will absolutely try to exploit this the moment it suits him...that’s a given. The question, like you said...this how we prepare to deal with it when he plays fast and loose with our lives again.

It’s going to take sharp thinking...strong organizing...and the kind of resilience you’re clearly already bringing to this. I’m really grateful to have your voice and perspective in this fight.

“By gutting nationwide injunctions…the Court just handed Trump a strategic gift”

Only partly. The opinion says that NW injunctions are valid in cases brought by state governments or class action lawsuits. The former certainly applies to birthright citizenship, and I bet there’s a certified class by next Tuesday. It ain’t over by a long shot.

Thank you so much for this...such an important point. You’re exactly right. This isn’t a total shutdown of nationwide injunctions...it’s a surgical restriction...and there’s still room to maneuver.

State governments can still bring cases...and you can bet they will...especially on something as sweeping as birthright citizenship. And you’re spot on...class certification will likely come fast and hard. It’s a setback, yes...but far from a checkmate.

I really appreciate you bringing this level of clarity to the conversation. It’s a critical reminder that it ain’t over...not by a long shot. Grateful you’re here and thinking through this with me, Scott.

The real difficulty with this decision is that it’s well-reasoned and hard to argue. Unlike Citizens United and Trump v US (immunity), which are just bad thinking.

I have no words left. Speechless. I’ve read all of today’s posts. It is now even more important to understand that what works in NYC doesn’t necessarily even work for other cities, leave mind rural areas. Your ideas for campaigning are spot on. It’s going to take all of us minions to push leadership away from their useless focus groups and policy papers.

Thank you so much for this...Linn...I can really feel the weight in your words.

Sometimes the sheer volume of what’s happening just knocks the breath out of you...and I completely get that. You’re absolutely right...what plays in NYC doesn’t automatically translate to the rest of the country...especially in rural communities that are living a completely different reality.

The disconnect in strategy has been hurting us for years.

And yes...it’s going to take all of us pushing, speaking...demanding that leadership stop hiding behind focus groups and policy memos and start listening to the people actually living this fight. I’m so grateful you’re here and part of this push. We keep going...together.
