Jack, I read this twice, and the second time I took notes. The doors are open, and the useful question is who's standing in them. Here's my plan for November 3 to January 3.
Start by winning by too much to steal. Vote early and drag everyone you know with you. A narrow race is a negotiation, and a blowout is a verdict. Every ballot banked in October is one that can't be lost, challenged, or "reviewed" in November.
Then get the lawyers ready before they're needed. Certifying an election is supposed to be routine paperwork: the county counts the votes, signs off, and moves on. If any county refuses to sign, there should already be lawyers ready to file a complaint that same day, because whoever files first sets the pace. Back the groups and state officials who are lining this up now. A single voter filing alone can get lost in the shuffle, but a state, or a big organization with members in every county, gets heard fast.
Make the record while you do it. Video the counts, log the chain of custody, and post copies publicly. A lie dies fast against a timestamp. Fill the canvass meetings as well. They're public, boring, and attended by almost no one, which is exactly why bad actors love them. Pack the room and make every board member say yes or no out loud, on camera, with their name attached. Cowards hate being filmed.
Get ahead of the delay, too. Tell people now that counts take days and early numbers shift. A slow count is a normal count, and nobody gets to call it a crime scene. Then reward the Republicans who certify. Praise the clerks and commissioners who do their jobs, loudly, so the next one finds the nerve. Name the ones who refuse until they're embarrassed enough to reconsider.
Finally, put 866-OUR-VOTE in your phone. You can call or text, and you should report problems the minute they happen, not next week.
By January 3, the paper trail should be so clean and public that there's nothing left to argue about when the new Congress convenes. The referees are gone, so be the referee: clerks, canvassers, lawyers, neighbors with phones. Nobody else is coming.
“A narrow race is a negotiation; a blowout is a verdict” is a SUPER clean version of that idea. Also...the point about canvass meetings is the one relatively few get. Those rooms are empty....because they’re BORING...and empty rooms...are where the quiet PRESSURE happens.
FILL them...FILM them...make everyone say it OUT LOUD. That’s not activism. That’s just WITNESSES.
Save this. Come back to it in six weeks and see how much of it you did.
Thank you for taking it seriously, Jane. THIS...is what the next few weeks actually look like!
Jack, we’re finishing up prepping us, our home and supplies for the days between now and January 3rd, perhaps a little beyond that date in 2027. We’ve voted, and have received notification from our Secretary of State that our votes have been received and tabulated…now it’s just a waiting game, and a very nerve wracking waiting game!! I don’t believe he will lose/go down without torching everything around him, including our country, that’s what frightens me the most, and there’s not much we can do to stop him!
We were out at our local NO KINGS yesterday and it was very disheartening to see the few of us that actually turned out to protest…now of all times…it was, for the most part, seniors who seemed to be the ones willing to take their time to stand up for our democracy!
I never dreamed this would happen in our country, that this would be how I would be spending my time in my senior years…fighting for our country, to protect our rights, our freedoms and our democracy! To say I am apprehensive is an understatement, and talking with our fellow protestors yesterday, I am not alone in fearing what is coming for us!
I agree with you on something I wish I didn't. There is NO valid reason for any US citizen to think he WON'T torch everything around him.
People can HOPE he won't, but...if they're being responsible, mature human beings...they should fully EXPECT him to cause devastation wherever possible.
Apprehension understood, Christie. I'd be concerned about you if you WEREN'T.
Keep watching; I'll have at least one upcoming article on mental and psychological preparation...in advance...to stay as stable as possible in the event of the worst possible outcomes.
The people who find themselves trudging through the most horrible kind of hell, in those situations, are the ones who waited to see how they would react, rather than pre-planning how they would RESPOND.
Jack, thank you for all you do, keeping us alert and aware. I value this information. While it scares me, we have to face reality! I have been fearful that Trump will just declare martial law and take over the country and NO ONE will stop him. Like Christie, I do not believe Trump will go quietly but will destroy as much as he can. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's word from you.
Jack, we’ve made a concerted effort to have shelf stable foods, necessary medications refilled, pet supplies also stored, water and much more…now all we can do is wait!
I’ve made certain I have books to keep myself occupied & as distracted as possible going forward, puzzles to do with my husband also…I just don’t want this to be our reality and wish there was something that could be done…but, it is what it is, and we will stand strong! Thanks Jack for all your words of warning, advice and support!!!
Christie, I'm with you. I've participated in No Kings, written/emailed Congressmen and Trump/White House until I'm blue in the face, encouraged others to do the same. Yet, here we are and it seems fewer of us are doing anything. It's scary. I believe I am seeing a little more negative backlash to some of Trump's lies, deceit, and corruption and am hopeful more will begin to see the truth. How did we get here? We must stay the course!
My question is, if we vote in a democratic president in 2028, do these same rules, laws apply to that president? Will scotus allow this to stand if a democrat does it or will they over rule themselves? Is this forever, or just for Trump? I will be very interested to find out!
Patricia...that’s the right question...and...the honest answer is: nobody knows yet, which is ITSELF the problem.
In theory, rulings like the immunity decision apply to the office...NOT the man. In PRACTICE...this Court has shown it’s willing to find distinctions when it WANTS a different outcome; the emergency docket ALONE...is full of standards that seem to shift...depending on WHO'S asking.
So a Democratic president in 2029...would inherit the same expanded powers on PAPER...and then...we’d find out very quickly whether the Court actually meant it.
I’ve been following the SCOTUS stuff all along and have a decent understanding of what it all means. That said, it’s great to have it all succinctly said in a very easy to grasp layout with layman’s language. It is a huge gift. Will absolutely restack.
This article is definitely a double edged sword for me because having it laid out SO clearly in one spot validates my occasional descent into terror. I’m feeling it now and refusing to give in because We. Can’t. Afford. It right now…. I agree the passage from the election to January is a VERY dangerous time.
I do believe people are waking up more and more every day. I do my best to talk to folks that have reservations about Abdul. The man is brilliant and I just found out today that he is the only person In. The. Whole. Nation that has a nascent proposed policy on AI (as reported by Waj Ali - still looking for a paper stmt of that). How a Dem could refuse to vote for him because he’s a brown Muslim flummoxes me. Then again… there IS the whole corporate machine thing. (I am famously non-affiliated and have never pledged to a party….. but very frickin’ progressive)
I am looking forward to the Monday article. Thanks again!
Deb...thank you for being HERE...and....for the restack; that genuinely helps.
On the terror...yeah...I think you’ve got it exactly right.
Feeling it is just accurate PATTERN recognition. Refusing to be RUN by it is the discipline.
The election-to-January window...is dangerous....PRECISELY because that’s when they’re counting on people to be exhausted and frozen...so the fact that you’re OUT THERE... talking to the hesitant...is NOT a small thing. It's a BIG DAMN DEAL.
And...YES on Abdul...the AI policy piece is a good example of the GAP... between who he actually IS and the caricature...some Dems are still carrying around.
KEEP HAVING those conversations, Deb!. THAT...is exactly....where minds CHANGE.
Deb I watched him take down a MAGA person on substack video and it was a master class. He was ultra polite, did not raise his voice or demean teethe MAGA plant. He just kept asking pointed questions and did not let the guy get away with some off answer then he explained that he, Abdul, gave his oath tot the constitution not a religion or a man. By the time he was done the guy walked out . Denver Riggleman gave a very detailed description about what it was and what the guy was trying to do. He is a former Army intelligence guy that served as a republican before drumpf and did not try to get reelected to the senate. He has great intuition and insight from years of following patterns like Jack.
Teri... thanks for sharing that; the “oath to the Constitution, not to a religion or a man”, yeah... that's it... and the fact that he delivered it without EVER raising his voice... is why it lands with a THUNDEROUS BOOM.
Calm...relentless questions...beat volume most every time. The plant walking out (and the plant is exactly what he was) tells you who ACTUALLY had the stronger position.
Riggleman is worth listening to on this...and most things, for that matter. (Denver was my first guest on the kickoff of The JackHopkins Show Podcast)
He's someone who’s spent years INSIDE intelligence work...watched the party change from the INSIDE...and CHOSE to leave rather than bend. When THAT person says “I know what this is,” yeah...everyone should pay attention.
I too have voted and been counted. As have my cousins, my wife, my sister and her husband. An overwhelming electoral victory for Dems will likely be meaningful enough to get the next Congress seated. We need an Hungarian result, a national outpouring of our discontent. And I believe we will get that. How we unseat the fascist set of justices is a different problem that won’t be accomplished for at least two more years. Jack, what I would like to see from you or from anyone you know who is so inclined — deep investigative dives into the lives and motivations of Russell Vought and Peter Thiel and their acolytes. These are the folks with intelligence and the plans to steal our Constitution from under our noses. They seem to think they’re deserving of all this power and “glory”. They are the ones that with tentacles around the Supremes and allies in the billionaire media technocaracy. They need their vampire lives exposed to the sunlight of our derision. Trump is the vehicle they ride, but they are the builders of this authoritarian highway that must come to a dead end now.
That’s how it gets DONE: one household at a time, counted and done.
You nailed the sequencing. A margin too BIG to litigate...gets the next Congress seated...and the Court is a longer fight that starts after that, NOT before. No shortcuts there.
Vought and Thiel: noted, seriously.
You put the spotlight on what most coverage STILL gets wrong.
Trump is the DELIVERY mechanism. The people who WROTE the plans...built the pipeline....and expect to STILL be standing....when he’s GONE...yeah, they're the actual story...and they’ve worked hard to stay OUT of the frame; almost operating invisibly.
We casted our ballot, dropped them in the ballot box at city hall, and received text and email confirmation that the county received and counted them. We attended the No King’s rally yesterday and pleased that so many folks were participating; however, we did notice a lack of younger voters with the rally. I’m wondering if the younger folks are not as engaged as they should be since it is more of their future than ours that is threatened.
I have nothing of import to add - this is an aware, alert and engaged group and I’m proud to find myself comfortably ensconced here. As comfortably as is possible given our current “situation.” My vote is IN, I’ve volunteered to make calls and engage others, and still picking up extra water, dry goods and beans, grains, pasta, etc. when grocery shopping, and topping off my gas tank often.
Battery chargers always ready and can cook without electricity with ease and in comfort.
Documents gathered in a fireproof safe place.
A bit of cash set aside just in case and I think I’m as ready as possible.
It’s easy to strike up casual convos while out and about. Folks will either look at you like you’re nuts, which happens now and then, or they’ll engage with good questions, interest and support. The latter is much more common and it gives me hope. We’re not done for yet.

I saw that video on Jeff Teidrich’s Substack. Calm and brilliant!👹
Same, Deb.
Absolutely a brilliant political synopsis: you put the Order of events that have got this country now in its grip in2026.
A sequence of orders that follow like a oppressive chain… and our Vote will start breaking up the chain.
Much appreciated.
Lillian...thank you.
And...thank you for highlighting the only part we can do anything about...the only thing that really matters now: VOTER TURNOUT.
I believe we will. I believe we must.
