The Buffet Rule (and why you’re doing JHN exactly right)
This is really brief...and an important reminder
A lot of critical stuff is happening daily now…and you may have noticed my writing intensity has ramped back up
If you pay for an all-you-can-eat buffet…you don’t go home mad because you “couldn’t eat it all.”
You go home satisfied…because you ate enough for that particular meal.
That’s the right way to approach The Jack Hopkins Now Newsletter.
JHN isn’t a homework assignment. It’s not a stress test. It’s not a guilt machine.
It’s a buffet of clarity…context..tools…and perspective…served fresh…in real time…so you can take what you need when you need it.
Some days you’ll read everything.
Some weeks you’ll skim.
Other times…you’ll only read the one piece that hits you at the exact moment you needed it.
That’s not “falling behind.”
That’s you using the subscription the way smart people use resources: with rhythm, not pressure.
And here’s the best part: your subscription isn’t just paying for what you personally consume. It’s paying for the fact…that this work exists…ready for you…whenever you want to walk back up to the table and load your plate.
So if you’ve ever felt that little tug of “I can’t keep up…”
Good.
That means you’re living a life.
Keep doing it the right way:
Take what feeds you.
Leave what doesn’t.
Come back when you’re hungry.
You’re not missing out…you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
Best,
-Jack

damn... how did he know?
Jack, still again I find it uncanny how you seem to read my situation without even knowing me! “It’s a buffet of clarity…context..tools…and perspective…served fresh…in real time…so you can take what you need when you need it.” That description of yours today suits me to a comforting “T” as in a lovely cup of hot “Tea”, lest there any confusion with the letter I almost decided not to use for comparison. Yes, I have been falling behind in many ways, not that I want to miss anything. Thank you for each tool and perspective you kindly share. For tonight this is the perfect message, especially since much of my list has been transferred to another day.
I had thought retirement would be a wonderful time to catch up. It IS a wonderful time, but catching up seems like an illusive concept. Your helpful newsletter is always a treat, always, and once again, after great concerns of the day, I will turn out the light with a smile of contentment and a happy deep breath.
