We will win. Our Founders demand it. Our Constitution, our Democracy, and Common Sense demand it.

I so appreciate your posts, Mr. Hopkins. I have saved many of them to study and begin to promote and amplify your ideas. I have studied uprisings and revolutions-and that knowledge is helpful.

Yet there is something about this moment, about the clown show that masks the deadly intentions that makes this present drive to authoritarianism seem different.

It all reminds me a bit of the social unrest that followed the The Black Death (1347-1352). British historian Mike Ibeji wrote:

"Life in Britain in the fourteenth century was 'nasty, brutish

and short', and it had been that way for the peasantry since long before the Black Death.

Britain in the early fourteenth century was horrendously overpopulated. This was very good

for the land-owning classes, since it meant that they had a vast reserve of inexpensive

manpower upon which they could draw. In fact, there was such a surplus on manpower, that

most landlords found it convenient to relax the old feudal labour dues owed to them on the

grounds that men could always be found to perform them.

This changed after 1348. We can see in the example of Farnham the immediate consequence

of the plague: a slash in the cost of livestock and inflation in the cost of labour. This pattern

was repeated up and down the country. The immediate reaction of the elite was to legislate

against this."

Thank you for your attention to the moment, for your urgency, and for your clarity.

So good. Thanks again.

Readying for the little cold snap. Lows forecast in the 30s tonight, then 22 and 32 for tomorrow and Monday nights.

Brrrrrr. Will it hit you before it hits us in NE OK?

Surely was grateful for another perfect day today.

We will win. Tonight my sister was working on transferring old video tapes to dvd. The tapes she transferred covered the birthday celebration of the Statue of Liberty, Fourth of July celebrations from a number of years ago, and I especially enjoyed watching the I Love Liberty special that Norman Lear did in the 80s. I was comparing then to now and it just stiffened my resolve along with my sister to continue to fight and successfully defend this democracy. Thank You, Jack for articles that reinforce our resilience.

Thanks...I needed this. Clarity is refreshing. We will win. I have too many posts, emails sent, letters sent and phone calls made to stop now. Last Tuesday was a reward to me. Stay connected, stay loud and stay positive. We are on our way to a better time. Jack, you have been an inspiration to me. 💙🇺🇲⛽⚖️

Hi Jack, you are my required reading Sunday before the start of another insane week. I think your analysis is spot on. I do think the weak link in the Strongman story is the Black Swan picture of the sleeping Trump. Who could have imagined ...

As is usually the case for me, a pop culture reference popped into mind. Rewatching it seems to show me it’s more relevant than I thought.

With the luxury of writing this during the evening of 09 Nov., it now appears that the Dems have indeed, blinked first.

Coming just a couple of days after a rare gutsy move by the Dems, with their offer of ending their opposition to the CR in exchange for a one year extension of the ACA subsidies, I’m sure that I’m just as flabbergasted as everybody else. How many saw this coming, at this juncture?

My Detroit Lions used to specialize in snatching defeat from the jaws of victory; now that’s Chuck Schumer’s job ….
