The Anti-Quit Blueprint for Turbulent Days
The Untapped Power Inside You: Unlock the extra gear you didn’t know you had.
The Jack Hopkins Now Newsletter #568: Monday, September 29th, 2025.
If you’ll give me a few minutes, I’ll make you an offer no one else has ever put in front of you…an offer to buy the one thing that changes everything:
Your own untapped reserve of resilience and determination.
Yes, I said buy. I’m going to sell you on you.
Because right now…amid the wild…wooly…chaotic noise that’s strangled this country for the past decade…you’ve been sold on fear…sold on outrage…sold on helplessness. Nightly. Daily. In your pocket. In your home. Loud. Constant. Inescapable.
But no one is selling you the only asset that beats chaos every time: the next level of yourself….the one you suspect exists, but haven’t seen…touched…or activated yet.
Today…that changes.
What This Letter Really Sells
This isn’t a pep talk. Pep talks fizzle by Wednesday.
This is a transaction: you trade me your attention…your skepticism…and a decision; I deliver the switch that turns on what you’ve been hoarding without knowing:
The extra gear you didn’t think you had.
The stamina you believed belonged to “other people.”
The stubborn…steel-spined refusal to quit when the easy path evaporates.
This is a sales letter for your own personal power (one just like those I used to write to those who were working with me…one on one) and when we’re done…you’ll sign on the dotted line and buy into something most folks never purchase:
A new identity: the version of you who outlasts this mess and wins anyway.
The best part? It doesn’t cost a dime. It simply requires a decision to reach the best you.
Let’s Get Honest About The Market You Live In
As I mentioned in a recent issue of JHN, the markets obey incentives.
For ten years…this nation’s incentive structure has paid top dollar for fear and fury. Politicians…platforms…pundit…left...right…center…have all discovered the same thing:
Outrage gets attention…and attention prints money.
So what’s happened? You’ve been marketed to as a spectator…not a producer. The media sees us as a consumer of chaos…not a creator of outcomes. As a passenger on a bus….you don’t drive.
That is a lie.
And every day you buy it…you sell off a piece of your strength for a dopamine coupon that expires by morning.
Here’s the first truth nobody puts in the brochure:
You are not powerless. You are under-marketed to by yourself.
Read that again.
The world’s best marketers have been selling you reasons you can’t….while you’ve barely tested reasons you can.
The result? People with a fraction of your intelligence and heart are outpacing you simply because they bought the upgrade from self-doubt to self-direction.
Time to match them…and pass them.
The Big Promise (Backed By the Oldest Proof on Earth)
Promise:
Inside you is a hidden reserve of resilience and determination large enough to carry you far beyond your current limits…so far…you haven’t even thought to imagine it yet.
Once you activate it…the conditions around you lose their veto power.
Proof? Let’s bypass slogans and look at humans:
Soldiers who sprint on broken feet because someone needs them.
Parents who lift a car because a child is trapped.
Entrepreneurs who rebuild after losing everything…twice…because the idea won’t die.
Survivors who turn a diagnosis into a deadline for greatness.
Do they have different DNA than you? No. They hit a switch. Pain pushed it. Duty pulled it. Love smashed it.
I’m offering you that switch…without having to wait for a catastrophe to flip it for you.
The Problem: You’ve Been Sold a Defective Story
A lot of brilliant people are walking around exhausted…certain they don’t have what it takes to endure this era; politics…economics…health scares…family heaviness…cultural nastiness…all of it.
They are not weak; they are mal-programmed.
The defective story sounds like this:
“I’m tired. I can’t keep this up.”
“The world is too crazy. What difference can I make?”
“Other people are built for this. I’m not.”
“I can do a bit more, but not that much more.”
This story sells because it offers you relief:
If you’re fundamentally limited…no one can expect more. You can coast. You can wait. You can hoard energy for someday.
But someday never arrives. And the meter keeps running.
Here’s a Raw Hopkins Truth:
Relief is not the same as strength. Relief is a loan. Strength is an asset.
You’ve been borrowing relief and paying interest in the coin of regret.
The Agitation (Where We Tell The Truth For Once)
How much has your life cost you because you’ve been operating at 60%?
What project is still half-done?
What opportunity did you decline because you were “not ready”?
Who stopped believing you because you stopped believing you?
How many mornings did you wake with fight…only to scroll it away?
This isn’t guilt. It’s a diagnosis. You’re not lazy; you’re under-activated.
People ask, “How do I get motivated?” Wrong question. Motivation is cotton candy. What you need is identity. Once you become the person who persists…the behavior follows.
Which brings us to the product I’m selling: a personal operating system that flips you from spectator to force of nature.
The Product: The “RESILIENCE ENGINE™” (Yes, You Already Own It)
I’m going to give you a seven-part framework.
It’s not theory. It’s a mechanism…a Jack Hopkins–cleaned carburetor for that V8 you’ve been idling.
Use it and you’ll discover something wild: the more you use your reserve…the larger it grows. (Muscle law. Iron law.)
1) Declare the Identity (I Am The Person Who Finishes Hard Things)
Not “I want to.” Not “I’ll try.” Say, “I am.” This locks your brain into finding evidence that matches.
I call this positioning:
You choose how the market (your life) perceives you. Position yourself as a finisher… and your nervous system starts protecting that brand.
Micro-commitment:
Write it: I am the person who persists, even when it’s inconvenient, unsexy, or unfair.
2) Shrink The Arena (Win Today…Not Forever)
People fail because they attempt to win forever on Monday. That’s a fantasy pitch.
Instead, win the next block.
Make your resilience local…not cosmic. Choose one domain today: health…craft… family…business. Make a promise you can’t wiggle out of in three hours.
Micro-commitment:
Pick a 90-minute block today and assign it a single mission. Phones off. Door closed. Outcome defined.
3) Install Friction Against Quitting (Make It Costly)
Quitting is cheap because you’ve made it private. Make it public.
Send a message to someone who would mock you lovingly if you retreat. Put money on the line. Schedule a check-in. Give your future self a bill for backing down.
Micro-commitment:
Text a friend: “I’m call 3 ______ by 3:00 pm. If I don’t…I owe you $50.” Watch your focus snap into place.
4) Exploit the “Second Wind Window” (The 10-Minute Law)
The first ten minutes of any difficult push feel like a scam. Your brain screams, Not today.
Ignore it.
Work ten minutes anyway. Ninety percent of the time…minute eleven arrives with air. Winners don’t negotiate with minute one. They invest to reach minute eleven.
Micro-commitment:
When resistance peaks, say: “Ten minutes, no feelings.” Start the clock.
5) Upgrade Your Language (Delete Weak Verbs)
“I’m trying.” “I hope.” “Maybe.” These are linguistic seatbelts for cowards.
Replace with:
“I will,” “I choose,” “I commit.” (Your brain is a dog; it obeys your voice. You’ve just not been giving it the correct commands.)
Micro-commitment:
For 24 hours, ban “try/hope/maybe.” Keep a tally. If you slip…correct it out loud.
6) Measure, Don’t Marvel (Numbers Build Nerves)
You cannot feel your way to resilience.
You measure it. Reps. Pages. Calls. Miles. Minutes. Stops. Starts. By Friday…you should have a scoreboard that would make a football coach nod. Numbers turn fog into facts…and facts fuel confidence.
Micro-commitment:
End each day with a three-line log:
What I kept doing when it got hard
What I finished
What I’ll do next
7) Engineer the Environment (Make It Hard to Fail)
Willpower is noisy. Environment is quiet.
Move temptations out of reach. Move tools into reach.
Set your next task before bed. Lay out the clothes. Prep the desk. When morning arrives…you shouldn’t be making decisions. You should be keeping promises.
Micro-commitment:
Before sleep…stage your first task so hard that a raccoon could complete it.
That’s the RESILIENCE ENGINE. Use all seven…and you’ll collide with a discovery people find offensive:
You were never “unlucky.” You were under-deployed.
“But I’m Tired. The Country’s Crazy. The News Is Brutal.”
Of course it is. Welcome to the conditions. Every champion you admire lived through conditions. Some lived through worse.
The offer here isn’t “feel better.” It’s become amazingly reliable…to yourself…your family…your mission…regardless of weather.
Will that change the country? Maybe not.
But it will change your county: the square footage you can actually govern.
And when enough of us seize our square footage…the map moves.
The 10 Lies You’ve Been Buying (And Their Replacements)
Lie: “I’ll start when it calms down.”
Truth: It never calms down. Start anyway.Lie: “I need more motivation.”
Truth: You need fewer options. Constraint creates motion.Lie: “I’m not built like those people.”
Truth: Those people weren’t built like those people…until they were.Lie: “It’s selfish to focus on myself.”
Truth: You cannot pour from an empty cup. Power first…service second.Lie: “I failed before; that’s proof.”
Truth: That’s not proof; that’s tuition. You paid. Use the knowledge.Lie: “I need to find my passion.”
Truth: Do the reps. Passion is kindled by mastery…not located like a treasure.Lie: “I’m too old/young/late.”
Truth: The clock isn’t your judge; it’s your partner. Start the next lap.Lie: “If I can’t do it perfectly, I won’t do it.”
Truth: Imperfect done beats perfect pending 100-to-0.Lie: “I must wait until I feel ready.”
Truth: Readiness is a result…not a prerequisite.Lie: “The system is rigged; why try?”
Truth: Maybe it is. Why? Because that’s what winners do.
BONUS-The Hopkins Anti-Quit Method: Tap Your Hidden Reserves On Command
You don’t need more pep. You need a mechanism that makes quitting awkward… finishing automatic…and your hidden power available on demand.
The Hopkins Anti-Quit Method does exactly that…built for real life…real ages (most of us 45+), and the kitchen-table battlefield where democracy and dignity are won.
Below is the whole kit. Print it. Post it. Use it.
The H.O.P.K.I.N.S. Framework (7 switches that kill the quit)
H-Hook your why to a person, not a slogan.
Pick one face you refuse to let down (spouse, grandchild, neighbor, fallen friend). Write their name at the top of today’s page. When resistance shows up…say their name out loud. Purpose outruns mood.
O-Own one mission (not five).
Every day gets ONE important outcome. Calls placed…email sent…letter filed…shift completed. If it’s not supporting the mission…it’s not your mission.
P-Pre-commit publicly.
Text someone before you start: “Calling X by 10:30. If I miss, I owe you $25.” You’ll be amazed how “busy” disappears when money and pride are on the hook.
K-Crush the first ten minutes.
The brain lies early. Work ten minutes with no feelings. Minute eleven brings oxygen. Winners don’t negotiate with minute one.
I-Install friction & incentives.
Make quitting expensive (penalty or chore owed). Make finishing pleasant (small reward you actually enjoy). You’re not weak…you’re human. Build rails.
N-Normalize the dip.
There’s always a sag in the middle. Say, “This is the dip. I keep going.” Dips aren’t verdicts; they’re weather.
S-Score it in public.
Checked box = power. Unchecked box = paid the penalty. Post the 14-day grid on the fridge. Visibility changes behavior…at any age.
The Anti-Quit Card
I am the person who finishes hard things.
I don’t wait to feel ready; I start…then I get ready. Ready happens while I’m doing.
I choose one mission, I commit ten minutes…and I accomplish.
When the dip arrives, I say “keep going” and I do.

P.S. The cavalry isn’t coming…and that’s the best news you’ll hear today. Because it means the switch you’ve been waiting for is already in your hand. Not in D.C….not on cable…right there on your kitchen table. One phone. One script. One ten-minute block. Power isn’t a feeling; it’s a pattern. Start the pattern and the feeling will chase you.
P.P.S. Do it now: leave one voicemail for your House rep…one email to your county clerk (curbside voting + “intimidation is a crime” signs), and text one neighbor to join your three-person thread. Three tiny wins.Tomorrow…repeat. Officials bend to repetition. Democracy is defended by the reliable…not the loud.
P.P.P.S. You’re tougher than hell. Act like it. Choose Door B: discomfort now…pride later. Step into it…even tired…even annoyed…even busy. Ten minutes. One mission. Do it. Then take a breath and say it out loud: I am the person who finishes hard things!
Brilliant. Infectious. Enthusiastic. LETS GO!
👏, and thank you.
