TACO Bully Trump has finally messed with the bully that won’t back down. Poked the bear and it’s coming for him. Won’t fall for his usual games and calling him out fast on the lies. He doesn’t know what to do because his usual schtick isn’t working. He has no play left
When the usual dominance playbook stops landing the same way...ESPECIALLY when it’s challenged quickly...it throws off the rhythm he’s relied on for years.
That doesn’t mean he has no moves left… but...it does mean the old ones aren’t working the same.
That’s when things tend to escalate...or get more unpredictable.
Pressure like this...is where you really start to see what’s underneath.
He’s old. Sanity and life are slipping out of his bruised and sore tiny little hands. But there might be a dance in the old dame yet, and he’s got about one more shot at getting whatever it is he really truly wants, deep in his (foul, greasy, rotten) heart.
He’s got about one more all-out drive left in him and he can’t afford to use it on anything that isn’t most important to him. Which means one way or another we will finally absolutely know what it is—or if there was ever anything other than an insatiable drive to suck up all the Main Character Energy into the void of himself, desperately trying one more time to fill it.
But if he really wants to be the King of the American White People, or Putin’s Good Doggy-woggums, or the Alpha Perv of the Epstein Pack…whether his way of pursuing it turns out to be rational and cold as a hungry python or one big utterly mad tantrum…that final act is happening this year.
Intermission is almost over. Finish your drinks, take a last minute leak … and, Main Curtain, stand by. Supposed to be a hell of a reveal in Act III. House lights sneak down on ten, go. Orchestra…stand by. Stage, call places …
Bruce...you’re spotting the stacking effect...and...that’s the real signal.
When multiple pressure points start lining up at once...messaging inconsistencies...claims getting challenged quickly...visible strain...it usually means control is getting harder to maintain...not easier.
You’re dead on with framing it as a PATTERN...not isolated moments.
On the timing piece...big stretches like the run-up to midterms tend to amplify everything. More scrutiny...faster pushback...higher stakes.
That combination doesn’t usually lead to things calming down...it tends to make them more volatile.
I’ve been saying since early Jan that I don’t think he will make it to the midterms; either his physical health will give out, or his mental state will deteriorate to the point where excuses just won’t be able to cover it anymore.
Trump's message is even more confusing than usual. It doesn't feel like Taco Trade messages, it feels like he is cornered. He can't please Putin and Netanyahu. He can't please his base and the billionaires. He can't please the world and his goals. His admin is advising him but they are not aligned. It feels like we are close to a meltdown.
Trump is desperately trying to bend reality by doubling down on lies and bullying. As he is increasingly cornered, he is going into extreme authoritarian mode. He is trying to exert control by sending his ICE goons into airports while rebuffing a Republican proposal to fund DHS sans ICE (never mind the 7 Dem bills proposed) and strong arming Congress into passing the SAVE voter suppression bill. He's outright accusing Dems of being the enemy. He's engineering an inhumane power grab for Cuba. (It's mine! It's all mine! I can do anything I want!, screams the spoiled manchild.) Dems see he's flailing. Iranians smell blood in the water. Sadly Trump is utterly incapable of negotiation because he is devoid of empathy. He lives in a fantasy world in his head. Reality is closing in fast. I have my eclipse glasses handy for the anticipated fireworks.
Carol Anne...You've zeroed in on the escalation piece...and that’s the key signal.
When pressure builds...and...control feels threatened...the response often shifts toward more forceful...more absolute tactics...stronger language...harder lines...fewer attempts at persuasion.
What stands out in what you’re describing...is the intensity change. It feels less like positioning...and more like trying to reassert CONTROL quickly.
You’re right. That kind of shift doesn’t usually happen in a vacuum. It tends to reflect a moment....where things are NOT going according to plan.
That’s when the situation can get more volatile...and harder to predict.
IMO, the message is that there are three actual motivations: authoritarian power, revenge and financial profit.
Everything else is a means to the end.
And that's how it's linking up.
The content manifestly be spieled is irrelevant, and even freer to be illogical, inconsistent paradoxical - EXCEPT that it is all in the service of authoritarian power, revenge, and financial profit.
Once you see those core motivations as the throughline...a lot of the apparent inconsistency stops looking random. The contradictions matter less because the content itself isn’t the point.
It’s all serving the same underlying goals...just through whatever language or posture... is most useful in the moment.
That’s why the surface message can look illogical....while the deeper PATTERN... stays completely consistent.
Tamie...You’re tapping into something real...the connection between pressure...stakes... and escalation.
When something is perceived as critical to holding power...the intensity around it tends to rise. Messaging ramps up...repetition increases...and the importance gets reinforced over and over. That part you’re noticing...is VERY consistent.
Don’t underestimate the second part of what you said.
You may FEEL like you don’t have power...but...recognizing patterns...naming them clearly...and...repeating them in a grounded way...that’s not nothing. That’s actually how narratives start to SHIFT over time.
Especially when it’s not reactive or chaotic...but STEADY and CLEAR.
That kind of signal travels further than people think!
What he is positioning for is when he tells the public he has boots on the ground. 50,000+ troops already in the Middle East and now sending amarines. Come on.
I’ve noticed the escalation in rhetoric and threats, obliteration and the like then he backed down and extended the ‘deadline’. All while shipping Marines to the Middle East. I’m not sure how to read it. Is he/was he planning to escalate then was point blank told what would likely happen so now he’s backing down? Or…? This is the part where I wish I had more military knowledge but maybe it would not make any difference?
I’m the kid that has always read between the lines (much to my family of origins chagrin) so my question often runs along the lines of ok, he’s said a, b and c…. Just what ISN’T he saying and what does it mean and imply?? Often what someone won’t say is a bigger tell. I think we all saw that with Tulsi Gabbard in her testimony before Congress last week. Plus when I’m really wanting to know, I turn my spidey senses up to about 99 out of 100 and let them do their thing. They’re often pretty darn good.
A lot of the time...the biggest tell isn’t what gets said out loud...it’s what gets AVOIDED... blurred...delayed...or framed in a strangely careful way.
That instinct you have...to read the negative space matters. It often catches the shift BEFORE the headline does.
Yes, what you’re describing can ABSOLUTELY reflect competing pressures colliding at once: public escalation...private constraints...logistical signaling...then a sudden extension or rhetorical step-back.
That kind of sequence often suggests somebody hit the edge of what was politically... militarily...or strategically manageable.
Your “what isn’t he saying?” frame is such an important one. Because that’s usually where the real story starts.
Your spidey senses sound pretty well calibrated to me, Deb!
I’ve been reading ppl my whole life. Seeing, sensing, hearing, noticing what’s unsaid with them is a way different arena than geopolitics. It’s like switching careers and learning a completely different frame of reference on the fly. It feels good to be finally catching on a little bit. I’ve always been interested in the political world and news but was used to trusting old school outlets for info. Those days are gone so it’s good to know an older puppy (that would be me) can learn new ways and tricks!
I really appreciate you and your insight, analysis and the articulation you bring to the table! Thanks again.
This war is not what he expected. It wasn’t like Venezuela, one and done. The Iranians are fighting back, and have advantage with the straight of Hormuz. There is no easy way out, he can sense this is bad politically, but he is backed into a corner, and trying to divert attention by selling off Cuba. The TSA situation is out of control and he is calling the shots with Republicans because he wants tge Save Act voter suppression bill passed. All his chaos coming home to roost and more Americans see he has no clothes. So he does the only thing he knows, creates more chaos and lies. This is Trump’s America.
This has not played out like he "wanted"and is now trying to reframe everything with his lies that never stop. Iran just called his bluff about lies. This only makes him more dangerous to the world, our military and us. The military does not deserve to be served up as fodder and the suicide is what this will be if they become boots on the ground. What I would not give for one massive stroke about now...
Trump is " torn between two lovers"...( if you'll forgive me...😄)...Putin and Bibi. It's affecting his moves...in complex ways..also this Cuba thing is on the back burner with Putin reportedly shipping them fuel...I'd say several mideast countries have gotten to Trump and asked him if he's out of his friggin mind and let him know that they are NOT willing to be destroyed and terrorized in order to back him..regardless of any past deals or alliances... Trumpy is WAY WAY WAY out of his depth. He's outgangstered...if you will..from all sides... China, Russia...Europe, probably more ...and they aren't willing to collapse their nations via oil starvation for the forseeable future. I think they would unite abs fight against him......Trump is over a razor wire fence now, hanging precariously by his diapers...Look..Im no politician or war strategist..just a regular person with a few brain cells miraculously left to rub together. I think Trump has no other option but to try and save face by lying his way out of this to diffuse it..the way he has done his entire life. However we are very far from out of thecm woods...I'm just dpitballin' with this stuff...He's still dangerously unpredictable...no need to rehash that...
Of course they do, after all, an Israeli company installed the camera surveillance system in his NYC townhouse at a minimum, & perhaps in the island residence too. Putin has had multiple occasions to have video of him in compromising situations, as it’s well known that he has video & audio bugs in all major hotel rooms, especially ones where visiting dignitaries would be staying.
Then Trump has to still keep the radical Evangelical Christian Nationalists happy, just yesterday or today throwing out that line about passing the SAVE America Act & doing it for Jesus?!?!
We all know T hates to look like a loser, & we know those people are really counting on him to slay the “evil” Iran to help bring about the making of Greater Israel, the building of the 3rd Temple, the sacrifice of the red heifer, so that the Messiah can return, & the Rapture can happen. There is definitely a lot of pressure on him to fulfill that promise.
I think he really wants very much to put military forces on the ground, so if he does back away from that, it will be because of those Middle Eastern allies threatening to withdraw their investment commitments if he doesn’t.
He loves pretending to be a warrior & blowing things up.
Gosh - where to begin on what I've noticed lately. It's a lot, and it doesn't coordinate easily with anything (or at least I'm not finding the common thread).
#1 - In the past, Trump's statements could generally stay on message for a day or two. Now, I'm seeing statements that directly oppose each other within a matter of hours.
#2 - Trump is throwing anybody and everybody under the bus, particularly those in his cabinet. Then everybody just looks stupid.
#3 - The use of false flag operation(s). Last week, Trump mentioned something about going into Ecuador. He mentioned "taking" Cuba, too. Today, I saw something about actually putting boots on the ground in Venezuela. I know it's just a bright shiny object, but it's really hard to figure out what's the real intent.
There are things that are missing, too. There's been very little said about the upcoming No Kings March on March 28th. At this point prior to the last No Kings March, people were EVERYWHERE talking about it and interest was extremely high. I'm not seeing that. Fwiw, I think people are getting tired and scared.
He is now contradicting himself minute by minute. I listened to lengthy remarks he made recently & the number of complete contradictions was breathtaking.
Trump is trying to buy time by claiming negotiations are underway so he can prepare for boots on the ground when the “negotiations “fail as would appear to be the likely outcome given Iran’s leverage now. But he will say he tried to reach agreement but the other side refused.
I remember your article a week or so ago about Marines being activated to the Middle East and how significant this was - and that once a large military force was deployed that it would need to be used and not kept waiting. Keeping that thought in mind makes me think something will be decided soon. Perhaps the change in tone is related to that issue. What a mess. I have several good friends who are Marines and they are a proud and effective military force. Would be disappointed to see their sacrificial service in this outrageous war mongering by Trump and Hegseth.

Thanks, Jack. You’re absolutely right. He does have plays left - this is always the point where he lashes out by whatever means he has at hand
He’s old. Sanity and life are slipping out of his bruised and sore tiny little hands. But there might be a dance in the old dame yet, and he’s got about one more shot at getting whatever it is he really truly wants, deep in his (foul, greasy, rotten) heart.

On with the show. This is it.
Amen, brother
#1 - He's backed down on the war crime of bombing civilian installations (electric generation)
#2 - In-your-face, blatant lying about talks with Iranians
#3 - projecting the deterioration of his physical and mental health. I'd still be surprised if he lasts past the midterms, 224 days from now
Bruce...you’re spotting the stacking effect...and...that’s the real signal.

I’ve been saying since early Jan that I don’t think he will make it to the midterms; either his physical health will give out, or his mental state will deteriorate to the point where excuses just won’t be able to cover it anymore.
Yep. Somewhere in my feeds, my speculations date back to the middle of last year:
~ 50/50 by December '25
closing on 100 by mid-terms
Tey propped him up through December and they will go to extreme measures to keep him propped through November 3 (Wednesday).
They can try, but he seems to be deteriorating faster now.
Charli...you’re locked onto the real issue: too many pressures pulling in opposite directions...all at once.
When messaging starts feeling this inconsistent...it usually means the competing demands BEHIND the scenes are getting harder to manage.
You’re right..that feels different from the usual cycle. Less controlled...more CORNERED.
That’s often when things start getting a lot more volatile.
-Jack
I love how Iran called his bluff!
Me too, Cherry!
Trump is desperately trying to bend reality by doubling down on lies and bullying. As he is increasingly cornered, he is going into extreme authoritarian mode. Jack, your articles are helping me see the patterns. I feel I'm in good company with you and your readers. Thanks.
He is pointing his followers at Dems with ‘our enemy Iran is destroyed’ and ‘Next greatest threat are Dems’
Indeed, Annie. He's already grooming them for violence, and the closer we get to the elections...more more amplified it will become.
-Jack
He likely hopes he can stir a form of civil war or insurrection against the left..he truly is unhinged and desperate...doesn't value lives..
Correct, Sher'. A life is simply a resource to him...or not. Nothing more. Nothing less.
-Jack
Agree. The level of blaming Democrats is waaay up, even from a couple of weeks ago…
Dr. David...yep, that’s a sharp read.
-Jack
Which is what makes him so unpredictably (stochastically) predictable.
The means need have no logic or consistency - in "philosophy", stated strategy/goals, time, place, or person or "loyalty/commitment".
Only the end point counts.
The more chaotic, random and inscrutable the STATED goals and behaviors, the better to draw observation and attention AWAY from the actual goals.
Is it possible they realize they are cornered in Iran? So they are prepping for what they are planning next?
Oh...you bet, Patty. Absolutely. That could very well be the case.
-Jack
He's not winning the SAVE act battle and he knows it is critical to retaining power.
Trying to imagine what worse things will be done to prevent the loss. And how to block their success.
I have no power - but I've learned from him that if you repeat something often enough, others hear and share.
Tamie...You’re tapping into something real...the connection between pressure...stakes... and escalation.
