By the way...it will be less than 30 days before ICE kills someone else. Probably soon than that...but no longer than 30 days from now. That's my bet. There are no consequences.

I just posted a comment to support you on this one!

Holman threatened that the murders will continue unless the Dems shut up.

On July 14, 2026, the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) ordered agents to suspend most vehicle stops to review safety and training after two fatal shootings during traffic stops in Maine and Texas. The following day, on July 15, President Donald Trump reversed the decision. The question is why? I have an opinion - what else is new!

The two most recent shootings happened in Texas and Maine. Both States that have razor thin Senate races that could go to Democrats, if you can believe most of the polls. So, I ask myself. beside the people who were shot and killed and their families, who else will be impacted? How about every hispanic and minority person in these two states. These shootings are a clear strategy to keep the minority citizen voters in these two competitive states from going to the polls in the mid terms for fear of being shot and killed.

The next states on the list? Alaska, Georgia, North Carolina, and Iowa. Even if nothing happens in these states, the fear has already been sewn. All voters, especially minority voters need to stay strong and informed. Fear never solves anything, only a clear mind and firm resolve can do that.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Steven...you've got the sequence EXACTLY right...and it's the part most people missed.

Homan called it a TEMPORARY pause...not a policy change. It lasted about a DAY before the President overruled it. Whatever else that tells us...it tells us WHO'S actually setting enforcement policy...and it's NOT DHS.

But...your closing line is the one I'd underline. Fear never solves anything. A clear mind and firm resolve do. That's beautifully accurate, Steven...and a great contribution. Thank you!

Stay strong. Stay informed. And...show up anyway!

Always have, always will.

I’ll drive. 🙋🏼‍♀️

Perfectly stated. I agree there will be more shot and probably killed because they always shoot more than one bullet to be sure the person is dead. We have to vote them out! I got my mail in vote today for primaries. I will be taking the mail in to the drop site. I do NOT trust USPS this go round. We have never had trouble just want to be safe and sure.

Teri...good on YOU for having it in hand already.

Walking it to the DROP BOX is exactly right. Not because anything's necessarily wrong with the mail...BUT...because a ballot you hand-delivered... is a ballot you never have to wonder about.

Peace of mind is worth the trip!

We can also call to verify it was counted

I’ll be doing the same with my mail in ballot.

Outstanding, Kris!

Best to be safe. We can also call to verify it was counted

Toni Denton's avatar

Yes in my state we can see the status online - received date and counted date.

James Vander Poel's avatar

Massachusetts sent mail-in ballot requests this past week. In hand, but with our local P.O.'s rep for losing mail, I agree with your not trusting them. Last year, they lost a certified letter I had sent to Boston. Took effort to get a refund on that $10 fee.

Teri Gelini's avatar

Can you use a drop off in a building like a court of tax collectors building? We have several county government offices available instead of just a drop box that’s not safe

James Vander Poel's avatar

Yes... one mile away at the town hall (it's a small town).

Teri Gelini's avatar

That would be a safe place

I so hope people start waking up in droves…. the whole extrajudicial killings (aka murders) is something that simply isn’t talked about enough. I haven’t heard any reports of ‘drug boats’ being blown out the water recently. I’m assuming it’s still happening? And ICE just up and murdering people?? What the everloving hell more do people need to actually SEE to convince them what this regime is about?!? Hot news flash, it’s not about the average citizen.

Some of the J6’ers that were pardoned have run afoul of the law, when stopped and confronted they started shooting and were actually killed by LEO (the one I’m thinking of happened in Indiana a bit ago). I suspect many former J6’ers have been hired by ICE…. jeeeeez, what could possibly go wrong with THAT??

I could really go on a rant…. and won’t, not this time anyway…. 😉 I will say when ya’ hire a clown, ya’ can’t be surprised when a circus shows up….. R’s are you listening???

Thank you, Jack for this article. I’ve restacked and hope it gets shared widely. It’s time!

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Deb...you're closer to something than you know on the ICE hiring question...and it's BETTER than a suspicion.

Raskin sent a formal letter to Bondi and Noem in January...asking flat out how many PARDONED January 6th participants have been hired. DHS's response was to call the letter reckless...disgusting...and unhinged...and NOT answer it.

Before that...an amendment BARRING the use of funds to hire ANYONE who participated in January 6 failed...15 to 17. Every NO was a REPUBLICAN.

Nobody's proven it. BUT...Congress asked...they refused to say...and when handed a clean chance to make it impossible...they voted it DOWN. Draw your own conclusion.

Oh...and the clown/circus line is going in my pocket. Thank you for the restack!

Feel free to use my snark however you see fit! 👍

And….. yes, the silence and / or refusal to respond tells me literally everything I need to know. I wasn’t aware of the ammendment or Raskin’s letter. Thanks for that.

You're welcome, Deb!

Keep hammering us with this Jack. Some of it will reach those who aren't in the "choir" and make a difference. They need to hear the unvarnished truth.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Gary...that's the whole bet, isn't it.

Most of what I write lands on people who ALREADY agree. But...SOME of it gets forwarded. Some of it gets read by a brother-in-law who wasn't looking for it.

That's why I try to keep it to things that can't be argued with. Documents. Numbers. What people actually said...on the RECORD...BEFORE they said the opposite.

You can dismiss an opinion. It's harder...to dismiss a RECEIPT.

I'll keep hammering. Thanks for being here for it, Gary!

I often feel as if we are living in a really bad movie, as if this cannot possibly be true. Were people always this rotten and just waiting for someone to say "Be as rotten as you want"? Some day, we will have to have a reckoning. How do we deal with the ICE thugs?

Patricia hogan's avatar

I wonder that every day, I can’t believe how many Americans are just plain evil. It’s eye opening.

What is the redline for the R’s in Congress? They are complicit in allowing the administration to abuse the Constitution and its citizens. When is enough, ENOUGH? Law and order, back the blue, fiscally responsible, etc. is no longer applicable. His rigging of the elections by threatening violence and intimidation should be a line in the sand.

Other than my parents who are deep in the Fox News hole, the majority of my friends and family are tired of Congress, as well as SCOTUS, not being the adults in the room.

I'm working on Congressional correspondence re: How urgent it is to introduce a bill to forbid any person pardoned by Trump to receive any financial award or expungement of court record. (Like it's gonna help, right? But I shall DIE TRYING!)

I feel rage, disgust and heartbreak reading these stories condensed in a few words that resonate long after I finished reading this. I knew the stories. But this cuts like a knife, Jack. It shatters the soul. And I, who never voted for trump, who sat aghast as his henchmen attacked the heart of our country and were freed, as his private army murders, still feel an abiding shame deep in me. I feel shame that I am associated with these heartless and soulless criminals. We have the same label. American.

James Vander Poel's avatar

Damn, Jack, that summation is hard to digest. But dead on. I don't want to take your bet: the time period is too long if you're measuring in days.

Kristine Antonivich's avatar

Less than 30 days, 2 weeks, 24 hours, now that He has decreed that traffic stops are necessary to get the criminals of the streets. However, none of the the people murdered by this regime and it's ICE thugs have been criminals. The criminals walked free from their Jan 6th crimes because it was done in service to their Orange king.

The threat to free elections, and voter intimidation are very real dangers. Be smart, use the drop box, check your voter registration, check that ballot has been counted. Educate your friends and neighbors about these steps.

The hypocrisy around the thin blue line Republicans is confounding and infuriating. Your point about where you are in the line of Trump's approval is on point. It is only a matter of time before he turns on the next one in line. One side note as someone that worked too many years in public schools, the people that say "we need to teach Civics in school" Argh!! It is f***ing a graduation requirement in most of not all HS in the USA. Teaching about civics is not the problem, learning what is taught is. Sorry just a rant!

Peter Botos's avatar

Fortunately, a US district judge from Florida kaboshed that $1.776 billion slush fund. Per her order, no one has access to the fund.

Cherae Stone's avatar

And the attorneys are in trouble with their bars. This could be sweet.

Peter Botos's avatar

As Jackie Gleason used to say on "The Honeymooners," "How sweet it is." Yes, let's hope their bar associations sanction them!

Jo Burns's avatar

Again you nailed the truth to the hide of every republican and independent that voted for T. When they say, "I didn't vote for this." Yes, yes, they did. They voted for him and his vike "policy" of murder, especially dark skinned immigrants. You are also correct. This lawless group of brown shirts will escalate and murder more with impunity. I heard last night from a former military, now pastor in Maibe that they have identified the shooter in Maine and it was a Mainer. They are distraught. He had just recently joined. So like the rest, highly untrained. The DHS, ICE, and Markwayne are murderers. The congress are complicit. Shutting down this entire operation is the only option at this time. There is nothing that can be done to redeem it.

In my state, Indiana, we see maga-GOP doubling down on "mass deportation" and "traditional GOP" utterly silent.

August 1st we are privileged to have a visit from Greg Bovino, for a "Save Heritage Indiana" Mass Deportation Rally (actually appears to be a recruitment event). Today a story about Indiana's deportation activity (Mother Jones), laid it out in vivid detail.

https://www.motherjones.com/politics/2026/07/indiana-ice-and-the-destruction-of-immigrant-families/

So far no murders, but some deaths in detention centers.

Bovino and our state maga leaders want to do more, not less. They are emboldened enough to call for a 30 year moratorium on immigration.

The GOP owns this. And those who stayed silent will someday be known for their cruel indifference.
