Dmitriev “Imagine Connecting the U.S. and Russia...with a Putin-Trump Tunnel”: The Bridge That Should Never Be Built
When “peace” is just a clever disguise for power.
The Jack Hopkins Now Newsletter #617: Saturday, October 25th, 2025.
Author’s note:
On Oct 17 2025 Kirill Dmitriev posted: “Imagine connecting the U.S. and Russia … with the ‘Putin-Trump Tunnel’ … a 70-mile link symbolising unity.”
What follows…will lay the foundation for you being able to see that post with fresh eyes…and clarity.
Oh…who is Dmitriev?
Kirill Dmitriev is a Russian financier…political insider…and one of the Kremlin’s most trusted economic operatives…often described as a key architect of Russia’s global investment and influence strategy.
The Velvet Glove of “Cooperation”: Russia’s New Con in Concrete and Steel
Let me tell you something I’ve learned the hard way:
Whenever a hostile regime suddenly starts talking about “cooperation”, “peace,” or “shared humanity,” you’d better check your wallet…because…you’re about to get robbed blind.
And now, the latest velvet-gloved con comes dressed up as an engineering marvel:
a tunnel between Russia and Alaska, sold to the world as a “Bridge of Understanding.”
You read that right. The same Russia that’s been hacking our grids…funding extremist parties…and cozying up to dictators across the globe…
now wants to literally burrow its way toward the United States under the pretext of “trade, climate, and unity.”
I’ve seen this play before.
It’s an old script…just with a new…billion-dollar set.
The High Price of “Progress”: What We Forget When the Enemy Sells Us Unity
A mentor of mine once said something I’ll never forget:
“Jack… we’ve always paid for our information. You just forgot how.”
He was right.
We pay with time…with attention…with misplaced trust…and sometimes…with our country’s security.
And that’s what this tunnel represents: a slick…PR-packaged illusion of progress designed to make us forget…who benefits…when the lines between ally and adversary… blur.
The idea sounds noble. Global unity. Scientific cooperation. Green energy. Jobs.
They always start that way.
But when you peel back the PR varnish…you start to see the outlines of something colder…sharper…and infinitely more dangerous.
The Real Blueprint: Six Ways the “Bering Link” Becomes Russia’s Ultimate Infiltration Tool
Let’s cut through the fog.
Here’s what a project like this would really accomplish:
1. Intelligence Access Under the Guise of “Engineering”
Once you create a physical corridor connecting the U.S. and Russia…you open a logistical vein straight into America’s northern defenses.
Every “engineer,” “consultant,” and “data technician” suddenly becomes a potential intelligence asset.
The tunnel isn’t just for trains…it’s for infiltration.
2. Legal Normalization of Russian Presence
The second this “cooperation” gets inked…it sets a precedent: Russia as a partner in North American infrastructure.
That’s not just symbolism…it’s leverage.
The next time sanctions come up…they’ll wave that partnership in our face and say, “You can’t punish your business partner.”
3. The Economic Trojan Horse
You think Russia builds anything without an ulterior motive?
They’d route state-controlled money through “joint investment funds,” laundered by
Western intermediaries and legitimized through “sustainability branding.”
It’s not about jobs…it’s about jurisdiction.
Once their money’s in your dirt…they own part of your sovereignty.
4. Propaganda Goldmine
Picture it: glossy photos of smiling families “meeting halfway,” kids waving flags from both nations…captions about “ending decades of division.”
Meanwhile…the same Kremlin that bombs hospitals in Ukraine gets rebranded as a visionary partner in world peace.
Propaganda doesn’t get more powerful…or more insidious…than that.
5. The Arctic Advantage
The Arctic is the 21st-century gold rush. Whoever controls its routes and resources…controls the future.
Read it again.
A U.S.–Russia link isn’t “cooperation.” It’s access.
It gives them legal and physical presence in a region we’ve guarded since the Cold War.
6. Psychological Warfare Dressed as Progress
Even if the tunnel never gets built…they’ve already won the first battle:
They’ve planted the idea that America should “coexist” with its enemy in the name of unity.
That mental shift…from suspicion to sentimentalism…is how nations go soft before they go under.
How to Fight Back: Seeing Through the Smiles and Stopping the Slow Surrender
So what do we do about it?
We see through the smile.
We recognize that modern warfare doesn’t always come in uniforms. Sometimes it comes in press releases.
It doesn’t always drop bombs. Sometimes it drops blueprints.
And we remember that freedom is rarely stolen outright anymore.
It’s leased away, one “collaboration” at a time.
We must demand transparency…not in headlines…but in the details no one reads.
Who’s funding it?
Who’s wiring the money?
Who owns the patents…the fiber optics…the data lines…the land underneath?
When someone offers you “peace,” ask what they had to destroy to make it sound appealing.
Because the only thing more dangerous than an enemy at your gate…
is an enemy building the gate for you.
The Real Story: Conditioning a Free People to Stop Seeing the Enemy
If you’ve been reading me for a while…you already know:
I don’t write this stuff to stir fear…I write it to sharpen vision.
The tunnel is just the headline.
The real story is the mindset behind it…the slow conditioning of a free people to believe the line between friend…and foe…doesn’t matter as long as there’s profit…or progress…or a pretty enough slogan attached.
Don’t buy it.
Don’t let them sell it.
And don’t ever mistake construction for creation…especially when the blueprints are written in another language.

10 Questions Every American Should Ask Before Believing the Next Big “Unity Project”
Who benefits if I stop being skeptical?
Every con needs consent. The second you stop questioning…you’ve already signed the dotted line.
Who’s funding it, and why are they hiding the money trail?
When “investment funds” go quiet about origins, it’s not philanthropy…it’s laundering by another name.
Who’s writing the press release?
Words like partnership…peace…and progress are the lipstick on the geopolitical pig.
What national interest does this actually serve?
If the answer isn’t ours…you already know whose it is.
What precedent does it set?
Normalization is the slow death of resistance. Once you call a threat a partner…you’ve lost half the war.
What problem does this really solve…and what new problem does it create
Good propaganda always hides inside a “solution.”
Who gains permanent access?
Geography doesn’t lie. Infrastructure is sovereignty in concrete form.
Why now?
Timing is strategy. Distraction is camouflage.
What happens if it fails halfway through?
Failed megaprojects are excellent covers for embezzlement…espionage…and influence-building.
What’s the cost of being wrong?
Optimism is cheap. Consequences aren’t.
25 QUESTIONS FROM NAYSAYERS…AND THE ANSWERS THEY WON’T LIKE
These are the most common objections I heard during one of my private “round-table” sessions…the kind I hold with people I’ve deliberately chosen for their skepticism.
They’re sharp…relentless…and they make me tighten every argument before I ever hit the page. But this time…the truths that followed stopped the entire table cold.
1. “But Jack, there’s no infrastructure in Alaska for something like this.”
No…there isn’t yet. Every megaproject starts with “impossible.” What matters is who funds the first stage. Once the shovel hits dirt…the momentum becomes political…not practical.
2. “Wouldn’t they have to cut through Canada?”
Exactly. And that’s the beauty of it…multi-nation “cooperation” means multi-nation accountability dilution. Everyone’s responsible…which means no one is.
3. “Nobody’s crazy enough to approve a Russia–U.S. tunnel.”
You’d be amazed what gets approved when money…ego…and “peace optics” align. History is a scrapbook of “that’ll never happen” moments that did.
4. “But Russia’s broke…how would they afford it?”
They wouldn’t. Their oligarchs would. Sanctioned billions move best under cover of “infrastructure partnerships.” It’s not about building…it’s about washing.
5. “Wouldn’t the U.S. military block it immediately?”
Depends who’s in office. And more dangerously…who’s whispering “economic opportunity” in the President’s ear.
6. “Even if they built it, couldn’t the U.S. just monitor it?”
Sure…like we monitored TikTok…Huawei…and election interference. Monitoring isn’t prevention. It’s postmortem.
7. “But Alaska voters wouldn’t go for it.”
Half of them wouldn’t. The other half would be sold on “jobs and trade.” Divide and conquer works at every level…including states.
8. “Wouldn’t the cost alone make it a nonstarter?”
Eight billion is lunch money to global investors looking for symbolic leverage. Remember: propaganda budgets don’t need to balance—they need to resonate.
9. “They’d never get the environmental approvals.”
That’s why it’ll be wrapped in green language: “zero-emission construction,” “climate cooperation,” “biodiversity monitoring.” You can sell poison in a recycled bottle.
10. “But Russia and the U.S. are adversaries.”
Exactly. That’s why they’d call it historic. Every manipulative PR stunt in history hides behind “ending division.”
11. “The public would never buy it.”
They said that about every disastrous policy in history…until it was framed as “progress.” Public opinion is a balloon. The right words fill it fast.
12. “Wouldn’t Congress stop it?”
Congress can’t even stop itself. You dangle contracts…you whisper “Arctic jobs,” and a handful of senators start saying “bipartisan opportunity.”
13. “But the tunnel’s just a concept!”
Exactly…concepts shape psychology long before they shape geography. Propaganda is a blueprint written on the mind.
14. “They’d need massive U.S. cooperation.”
They’d only need the appearance of it. A few universities, think tanks…and NGOs saying “we’re studying feasibility” is all it takes to legitimize the lie.
15. “Isn’t this all just paranoia?”
Paranoia is what they call pattern recognition before the evidence arrives. History rewards the skeptics…never the sleepwalkers.
16. “Why would Russia risk that much PR blowback?”
Because they win even if it fails. Every headline about “partnership” rewires perception. It’s not about finishing…it’s about framing.
17. “Wouldn’t NATO object?”
NATO’s objection would be slow…polite…and buried under diplomatic language about “independent member-state discretion.” Translation: too little, too late.
18. “What if it’s truly for peace?”
Then they can start by withdrawing troops from Ukraine…freeing journalists…and cutting off troll farms. Peace doesn’t need a tunnel…it needs accountability.
19. “Why would Americans fall for this?”
Because Americans fall for optimism with good lighting. Give them a smiling press conference and a drone shot of ice melting…and they’ll call it destiny.
20. “Wouldn’t the engineering be too difficult?”
Sure…and that’s the perfect smokescreen. While everyone argues about permafrost… the influence machine keeps spinning.
21. “How could it be used militarily?”
You don’t need tanks rolling through it…you just need access…infrastructure…and plausible deniability. That’s modern warfare’s holy trinity.
22. “But it’s just one idea!”
Yes…and so was Nord Stream. Until it wasn’t.
23. “Wouldn’t local tribes and environmental groups resist?”
They’ll resist…until funding and flattery start flowing. Divide the opposition…buy off the leadership…and rebrand dissent as “obstruction.”
24. “So what’s the endgame?”
Legitimacy. Influence. Access. The ability to say, “We’re not your enemy…we’re your partner.” Every future deal flows from that narrative shift.
25. “Jack, you really think a tunnel could change the world?”
No…a tunnel can’t. But the belief that we can trust the people who want to build it? That belief already has.
Something to Chew On
The point isn’t that concrete will pour tomorrow.
The point is that the conditioning has already begun.
Because every “project of peace” from a predator nation isn’t an offer.
It’s a test.
And history’s littered with free nations that failed that test…because they wanted to believe the smiling version of the story.
Stay awake. Stay skeptical.
And remember: the only real bridge between democracy and dictatorship is built out of wishful thinking.
I’ll leave you with this for the weekend.
Unless something truly explosive breaks…you probably won’t hear from me again until Sunday night…maybe even Monday morning.
Take the time to sit with this one. Let it sink in. There’s a lot here to process.
Back soon,
-Jack
P.S. In the next paid subscriber issue, I’ll break down who inside the U.S. has quietly cheered this “Bering Link” concept from think tanks and corporate boards…and how “global unity” became their favorite disguise for greed.
Also, I’ll drop the internal playbook behind the “Bering Link” PR machine…the names…quotes…and strategy documents that reveal how “climate cooperation” and “mutual prosperity” are just clever code for control and infiltration.
If you’re not yet in the paid tier…this is the one you’ll want to see.
Because what’s being built here isn’t just a tunnel.
It’s a narrative.
And narratives…once solidified…are harder to destroy than concrete.

Why isn’t the destruction of the East Wing and refortification of the bunker underneath the shoveling ceremony for this project? When Chump says he has the military involved in the unseen plans for the rebuild, it’s a euphemism for Hegseth’s Russian advisers. Get Tulsi involved for the bugging for the Kremlin. He alone can fix it for Mother Russia - it’s just another Russian money laundering scheme but yuger.
Who on Earth could want to accept the Trojan Horse you so aptly named? Nobody who is thinking right, for sure! We have somebody wanting to close our border on the south and harm people who have crossed it, harm immigrants who are helping make America a better place, illegally shoot innocent fisherman not even within our borders or waters, give away money to other countries, and open a tunnel from a country that has been against us and threatened us for decades, a tunnel to our country, our country which they have claimed their desire to control and their desire to take back Seward’s Alaskan Purchase, not only for its wealth of resources, but for help in controlling us and invading our country.
When the main person in favor of this tunnel was about seven years old, possibly eight, televisions showed the fearful commercial saying, “We will control your grandchildren.” The sign on the black and white screen said “RUSSIA” in huge letters, and a baby was heard crying loudly. Surely that boy of those years saw and heard the threat, and now he wants to help Russia. Where is logic? Where is loyalty to the oath that is broken repeatedly?
Where are all of the other oath takers? Only some of them are loyal while others of them have become oath fakers, seemingly with no conscience, no sense of duty or representation, and failure to protect Americans and their pocketbooks.
