I saw bits and pieces of the hearing. But she lost me when she started yammering about the stock market. I don't believe the victims present give one flying fig about that. Pam Bondi needs to be removed along with the rest of the cabinet.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Jan...yeah...she screwed the pooch today. I can only imagine what the victims felt listening to that drivel and BS.

This won’t end in one clean swoop. But the toppling of this trafficking regime has started...and it started because of us. Nonstop public pressure is what brought us here, and it’s what carries this the rest of the way.

Impeached and removed from office, yes, but then prosecuted for being a driver of the cover-up and, thereby, an accessory after the fact. Additionally, she lied to Congress today. That in and of itself is a crime, which carries a sentence of 5 years in prison if convicted.

Chrissy Williams's avatar

Finally! I am beginning to feel less victimized by this administration. Yes, it feels like “we the people” are victims. Victims of lies and misinformation and deceitful government officials who will do ANYTHING to protect themselves from exposure of the truth.

Thank you Jack 🙏💞

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Chrissy, I hear you. Feeling powerless is exhausting...especially when it seems like information is filtered.

What changes that isn’t outrage...it’s process: documents released...hearings held... redactions challenged...oversight made visible.

That’s how leverage returns.

Stick to evidence over absolutes: if there are lies...expose them...if there’s concealment, challenge it lawfully. That’s civic power.

WE, Chrissy...are powerful.

Thank you for being here!

Whoowee, her staff must truly hate her. And with good reason. Thanks for putting it all in perspective, Jack. Tonight, we are #HoldingFast with a little bit more energy.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Roberta...YES, the shift in tone you’re describing is a real thing.

When people feel like the spotlight is getting brighter...they feel less isolated and more steady. That matters...a hell of a lot.

We are staying disciplined...sticking to facts...and keeping pressure where it belongs... on transparency and process. It's working!

Focused energy is powerful. POWERFUL.

I'm glad you're here, Roberta!

You nailed it — she was a complete disaster even before she set foot in that hearing room.

Bondi’s hearing today isn’t just politically disastrous — it’s a clear demonstration of her failure to perform the basic duties of an Attorney General. She dodged accountability, ignored the survivors she’s supposed to protect, selectively redacted critical evidence, and spent more time attacking lawmakers than upholding the law. On top of that, she lied not once, but twice, about Ghislaine Maxwell. This isn’t oversight or defense of the DOJ — it’s dereliction of duty at the highest level. A top law enforcement official who refuses to do her job and misleads the public puts justice, the survivors, and the integrity of the entire department at risk.

It will be more effective to begin dismantling the system from the outside in, because the real problem isn’t just the top—it’s the enablers who protect, excuse, and enable corruption at every level. Targeting them first exposes the rot and makes meaningful reform possible.

Jane, thank you. She really is. If her public life is this messed up...can you imagine how much chaos must be in her private life? She is a walking...talking...stinking mess.

Nailed it, Jack.

Bondi is wholly unconvincing in her lies and evasion, and her outrage is so obviously artificial that it's no wonder the congress laughed at her in derisive scorn.

Leavitt is awful, a toady like the shrimpy little sadist who hung around Scut Farcas in A Christmas Story. Bondi is more like Delores Umbrage in Harry Potter, an ambitious and cruel liar.

Every single one of the Trump orbit come across like cartoon villains, the only difference being the violence and suffering they enact is quite real. Whether it's Billionaire Narcissist Elmo Musk sporting his new Hitler Haircut (that exposes his Bosley implant scar) or croaking Uncle Measles bragging about a diet of "ferments," it's hard to take them seriously.

People thought the same about Hitler. Big joke, until he wasn't.

Trump is a befuddled imbecile who no longer has the capacity to retain his bowel movements or complete a sentence. He is dying in front of us, and will need to be buried in an unmarked grave like bin Laden to avoid the serial desecration history will heap on him. He will be dead before the chickens come home to roost, and all these assholes know it.

Grab the popcorn.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

J Hardy...I feel the fire in this...people are done pretending this looks normal.

When officials come off evasive or performative...it shows. And...when the public starts laughing...instead of listening...that’s a credibility COLLAPSE in real time.

The energy shift is real. Keep it focused, keep it relentless...that’s how pressure compounds.

I'm glad you're here!

J Hardy Carroll's avatar

looking at this now I have to wonder maybe Bondi is wanting to be pushed out before this whole shit goes off the rails. The walls are definitely closing in and the commander-in-chief is so far down the dementia hallway that he can't go a few hours without shitting his pants. She knows that when he falls the attorney general is going to fall and wouldn't it be better for her if the attorney general is Todd Blanche? with the lack of courage and integrity she has shown I would not be surprised to watch her flip and give State's evidence in exchange for clemency. She's shrewd and selfish and awful but this was absolutely performative in every way. What do you think Jack?

Candy Morris's avatar

Nailed, yes, but let's not count our chickens too soon - still need to keep the pressure on the states powers to hold ICE etc to account

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Candy, exactly. Momentum is building...but momentum only matters if it’s SUSTAINED.

Federal hearings are one front. State oversight is another. Attorneys general...state legislatures, governors...they all have authority that can shape how agencies operate within their borders.

Pressure works best when it’s layered. And it ALL starts with US. Ultimately, we make it happen. That excites the hell out of me!

Stay steady. Stay focused. Keep it institutional...not just emotional. That’s how accountability actually sticks.

Took me a lot longer to get through this today, I had to stop and savor every word. I watched her meltdown and kept thinking of the old saw “when you find you’re at the bottom of a hole, stop digging”. It was especially gratifying to see her switch from a shovel to a backhoe.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Randy...I love that image!

You’re right...sometimes the most revealing moments aren’t the tough questions… they’re the unforced errors. When someone keeps talking past the point of discipline, the contrast sharpens.

What you saw wasn’t just a “meltdown.” It was overextension. And overextension... especially under scrutiny...tends to COMPOUND...rather than stabilize.

That’s when observers stop debating...and start concluding.

Savoring it...is EXACTLY what I did as well.. When the mask slips...even a little...people notice.

Yeah, plutonium implosion time. I realized I missed most of it but Lemon and some other contribs had highlight reels, one with Raskin commenting and another with Jayapal doing the view from her post, fascinating to see as they were both at the top of the top. I suggest our little family here go have a look in case ya missed anything.

So, I was caught up with the best (or worst) parts. I didn’t think I could be more appalled (or amused, I’ll admit it) but there it was. Seems there’s no limit to the depths of immaturity bordering on depravity. I’m not sure that works, but it’s gettin’ late.

(But would empty my bank account to watch a cagefight with her and Cohen.)

Jane B In NC🌼's avatar

Nice job showing the positive side of this, Jack. Bondi made such large mistakes that it really is going to turn a LOT more people off. She was so emotionally charged, irrational and showed ZERO concern for the survivors. She is as guilty as the rest of them and this added to the crumbling Epstein Class Empire.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

You're welcome, Jane B. You’re seeing what a lot of people saw....tone matters.

When an official comes across emotionally charged or dismissive in a hearing centered on victims and transparency...it doesn’t land well. And...when survivors appear secondary to political defensiveness...that’s when trust fractures.

I don't think Trump and company have any idea what permanent damage Bondi created for them all...today.

That kind of moment doesn’t convert critics...it alienates the middle. And...alienating the middle...is how support erodes quietly....but OH SO decisively.

Whether someone believes she acted improperly or not...the optics were BAD. Really bad. And optics...in moments like this...COMPOUND.

That’s the larger shift you’re picking up on. Well done!

There must be thousands of amateur sleuths out there who might just be combing through the released files right now.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Cathy, yes...probably so. When large document releases happen...people dig...journalists... researchers...attorneys...watchdog groups...and yes...curious citizens.

That can be...and IS...very powerful.

And...continued impact also comes when findings are verified...sourced...and tied to formal processes, hearings...court filings...oversight requests.

Crowd attention can surface patterns. Institutions turn patterns into consequences.

Curiosity is good...and when what it discovers is combine with accuracy and specificity..."magic" happens!

Bravo, Jack, for your wise observations and explanations! The various questioning and rude, obnoxious, and lying, hiding, and blaming excuses for for answers, usually while interrupting the wise questioners and shouting over them, certainly showed what she is, and what she is not, while emphasizing the fact that she should not be placed in the position she holds, and that she is not to be believed.

It is sad that such a situation should, or could even happen in our country, or anywhere, but those are the characteristics she portrayed. While being impolite to the end, she revealed characteristics that define her, as we have seen time and again, characteristics which behoov no one, are an embarrassment to our country, and should be an embarrassment to her, herself and to anyone who has wanted her on their team.

It means so much to read your explanations of how other people perceive her, how their feelings most likely will grow, and the probable effects which will evolve from having witnessed her behaviors in the situation. The faster they grow in that direction, the better! Thank you, Jack!

#HOLDFAST!!!!!

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Thank you, Judy Robinson. You're welcome.

You’re not alone...when someone in that position appears combative...dismissive...or unwilling to engage cleanly with questions, people draw conclusions fast.

What stood out wasn’t just tone...it was contrast. The role demands steadiness...clarity...and restraint. When the behavior feels reactive instead...it chips away at credibility.

And...you’re exactly right about growth curves. Public perception doesn’t shift all at once ....it ACCUMULATES. Moments like that don’t fade...they COMPOUND.

The more people witness the contrast between what the office represents...and how it’s carried...the clearer the line becomes.

That’s not hysteria. That’s observation!

#HOLDFAST indeed.

Wow she really is out of touch with everything and she has her lips glued to drumpf's butt. Sadly I have the misfortune of living in the state she and drumpf and weenie deathsantis who thinks he can outdo drumpf. You would think in his case he would be more grateful his wife has survived breast case for now. Being so young there is the possibility of return. Anyhow bondi outdid herself acting like a mini drumpf screaming and changing the subject and refusing to give any coherent answer. I am guessing this really did light fuse for many repugs. I could see she was trying to burn it all down unit backfired bigly. Hopefully the victims are seeing the dems trying to get things right for them.

#HOLDFAST

Teri

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Teri Gelini...I feel this. Living in the middle of it while watching that kind of performance is its own special kind of exhaustion.

And...yes...the screaming, the subject-switching...the refusal to give a clean answer… it didn’t read like confidence.

It read like panic and loyalty theater. When the vibe turns into “mini-Trump” defensiveness...a lot of people who aren’t in the hardcore tribe get turned off fast.

The part I keep coming back to is exactly what you said...moments like that light fuses.

Not just for Dems...but for the quiet Republicans and the “I’m tired of this” crowd who want adults in the room. That’s where erosion happens.

Holdfast, Teri. Focused pressure + receipts + oversight. That’s how it backfires into consequences.

The mistakes you note are the same as those made by President Richard Nixon & Attorney General John Mitchell.

The through line shows this likely will go as you note.

Who here will fill the shoes of Senator Barry Goldwater? August, 1974. " ... very little, and you don't have me "

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Julien...YES...that’s a sharp historical parallel.

When leaders respond to deepening exposure with defensiveness...obstruction...and “manage the narrative” instincts...it often follows the same arc: the cover-up...becomes the accelerant.

And...that Goldwater moment....is the essence of how these things actually end; not with one dramatic headline...but with insiders deciding the political cost has flipped.

Once a critical mass quietly signals “you don’t have us anymore,” the whole structure shifts fast.

The open question you’re asking is the right one: who becomes the internal line in the sand when the pressure compounds enough? That...is when the dominoes start falling.

Glad you're here, Julien Morrissette!

It feels good to start seeing the cracks forming. I often wonder how ppl like Pam Bondi and K. Leavitt sleep at night. We need to keep the pressure on all fronts, Epstein,ICE, free and fair elections, and the absolute grift of this regime. As a citizen of the State of Michigan the shady dealings between Matt Moroun and Lutnick underscore the corruption of this Trump administration

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Kristine...it really does feel different when you start seeing visible cracks.

When messaging falters...when optics wobble...when answers don’t land...people notice.

That shift from “untouchable” ...to “questionable” is real.

As for how people sleep at night....power has a way of insulating perspective. People justify...compartmentalize...and rationalize. That’s human nature in politics.

What matters more... is what you said next: pressure on multiple fronts. Transparency on Epstein. Oversight on ICE. Protection of free and fair elections. Scrutiny of financial dealings wherever they appear questionable.

Layered PRESSURE is what changes trajectories.

And...when you bring it home...to Michigan, to specific relationships...to specific concerns ...that’s how civic engagement becomes concrete instead of abstract.

Keep it factual. Keep it documented. Keep it steady.

Cracks widen...when pressure stays consistent!

I sincerely hope it’s the death knell for that bitch, and the complicit DOJ.

I’ve only seen snippets, but these were enough to know she’s a goner, if America has the backbone it should have! I don’t know another democratic country that would accept this shitshow and let them continue with this travesty they call justice.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Mo..."Bitch" is right. Truly. You’re right about backbone. Democracies don’t correct through rage...they correct through oversight...elections...courts...and sustained civic pressure. That’s the muscle.

I know I write those things over and over...but...that's because they ARE...the most important things. It doesn't change.

The turning point is happening...because enough Americans have decided the standard... has to be higher!
