Both Democrat Jim Himes and Republican Tom Cotton walked out of that classified briefing and confirmed that Bradley was “very clear” he’d been given no such direct command.

On paper…that sounds like it should calm things down. It doesn’t.

Because the same lawmakers who just cleared up the exact wording of the order…also made something else brutally obvious:

So…yes…Bradley says Hegseth didn’t literally say “Kill them all.”
But after today’s testimony…the center of gravity has shifted:

• away from one disputed phrase

• and straight into the much darker question of what was actually done…what was authorized…and whether the United States just crossed a line we swore we’d never cross.
