Jeanine Pirro’s Story: A Journey Through Scandal, Pardon, and Hypocrisy
The Jack Hopkins Now Newsletter #324
Jeanine Pirro has been a well-known figure in American media for years, hosting her own show on Fox News, advocating for conservative values, and often portraying herself as an authority figure…particularly as a former judge.
But behind the public persona is a much more complicated and troubled life.
Pirro’s journey has been marked by personal scandal…legal troubles involving her ex-husband, and questionable behavior that has resurfaced just when you thought the story was buried.
It’s time we take a deeper look at her life…one that is filled with contradictions and moral ambiguity.
The Scandal That Rocked Her Family
Let’s rewind to a critical moment in Jeanine Pirro’s life. Her children were 11 and 15 years old, and the seemingly perfect family she had with her husband, Albert Pirro, was suddenly shattered.
A paternity lawsuit was filed against her husband…and the DNA results confirmed what all involved feared most: during their six-year marriage, Albert Pirro had fathered a child with a woman he met during a business trip.
The situation forced reality to the surface for Jeanine: her husband’s infidelity was exposed publicly…and the future of their family was thrown into chaos.
But the troubles didn’t end with the revelation of his affair.
Albert Pirro’s actions were rooted in deeper issues…particularly substance abuse, which was clearly a driving force behind his poor decisions.
Court documents later revealed that he had a history of alcoholism and cocaine use, and even received treatment for depression.
To add insult to injury, Jeanine Pirro…not only stayed with him but went as far as writing a seven-page letter to the judge in his case…pleading for leniency.
In the letter, she played the victim card….citing the toxic and abusive environment in which Albert had grown up…one marked by alcoholism and dysfunction. Boo hoo.
The Legal Nightmare of Albert Pirro
Let’s not forget the magnitude of Albert Pirro’s actions.
In 2020, he was charged with tax fraud, accused of conspiring to cheat the IRS out of more than $1 million in federal taxes.
This wasn’t a small mistake or an innocent error; it was a deliberate act of tax evasion.
He was accused of underreporting income and hiding assets…the kind of financial manipulation that left the government seriously shortchanged. This wasn’t simply an underpayment of $67.50 due to a math error.
This wasn’t a one-time lapse in judgment: it was part of a broader pattern of deceit, driven by his personal issues and addiction.
Yet, despite the criminality of it all…Jeanine Pirro stood by her husband…a crook. Do you think she showed even 1/1000th of that kind of compassion to criminals who committed lesser crimes who came before her? Maybe she did, though I seriously doubt it.
She appealed to the court for compassion on Albert’s behalf…despite his long list of wrongdoings.
The fact that she would request leniency for a man who had been unfaithful…manipulated the government out of millions of dollars…and struggled with addiction says something about Jeanine Pirro’s own values and priorities.
What message does that send?
It suggests a level of compromise that is troubling, especially for someone who built her career on the moral authority of being a judge.
The Trump Pardon
If you thought things couldn’t get any more absurd…here’s the twist. In the final moments of Donald Trump’s first term, he granted Albert Pirro a full pardon.
Yes, you read that right. A man convicted of tax fraud…someone who had deliberately cheated the IRS out of over a million dollars…was pardoned by the sitting president of the United States.
I jest. That shouldn’t surprise you at all. It should, however, trouble the hell out of you.
Now, the pardon itself is controversial enough…given that Albert Pirro’s crimes were significant…and a pardon without facing any future consequences sends the wrong message about accountability.
But what’s even more troubling is the fact that Jeanine Pirro…a Fox News host…not only stood by her husband during his legal troubles but was also now part of a political environment where pardons were handed out like candy to well-connected individuals.
The very same Jeanine Pirro who has made a career of condemning others for their criminal behavior was now publicly linked to a pardon for someone who had committed major financial crimes.
The On-Air Incident: Is She Above Reproach?
Fast forward to 2021. Jeanine Pirro, now serving as Interim U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., is facing renewed scrutiny after an old on-air incident resurfaced online.
In this 2020 interview…viewers were quick to notice something unsettling about her behavior.
Many accused her of appearing intoxicated during the broadcast…further tainting her credibility as a public figure.
This incident is particularly important for two reasons.
First, it underscores Jeanine Pirro’s questionable judgment and behavior. How can someone with a background in law and a platform as a media personality be so careless on live television?
Second, as a retired judge who has often still used the title of “judge” on her shows, Jeanine’s actions set a dangerous precedent.
When people like her continue to represent themselves as moral authorities while demonstrating erratic behavior….it discredits the very role she claims to uphold.
Jeanine Pirro’s Dangerous Rhetoric
But the controversies don’t stop with Pirro’s behavior or questionable career decisions.
She’s also made several inflammatory remarks that highlight just how unfit she is for a position of authority.
On-air, in front of millions of Trump loyalists, "Judge" Jeanine Pirro called for the imprisonment of federal prosecutors and accused special counsel Robert S. Mueller III of treason.
This is not just irresponsible rhetoric; it’s dangerous. A former judge…someone who is supposed to be above political games…calling for the imprisonment of legal professionals is a direct attack on the integrity of the judicial system.
Do you think Jeanine Pirro is capable of being a fair and impartial judge?
Let me read your mind; no…you don’t.
Then, there were comments from Trump loyalists…like Corey Lewandowski…Trump’s former campaign manager and all-around dirtbag:
He praised her, saying, "Judge Pirro has understood the MAGA movement since Day 1."
This comment alone speaks volumes about Pirro’s alignment with the extremist factions of Trump’s base.
Finally, when Pirro was attacking DOJ officials over the prosecution of Trump…Rudy Giuliani…Pirro’s close ally…was asked if he thought it was proper for Pirro…a former prosecutor, to paint Justice Department leaders as potential traitors plotting a coup.
His response? “Who better to criticize them than someone who knows how it’s done?”
Jeanine Pirro, a former judge, being praised by Giuliani for her unhinged commentary on legal officials, was a dangerous precedent.
Having appointed Jeanine Pirro as a federal judge is like appointing the Son of Sam killer to Charge Nurse on an ICU Unit.
The analogy is shocking, but it’s fitting when you consider how far she has strayed from the principles of justice.
The Bigger Issue: Hypocrisy and the Erosion of Trust
At its core, the story of Jeanine Pirro is a stark example of the hypocrisy…that runs through the veins of certain political figures and media personalities.
We see someone who has positioned herself as a moral authority…but whose personal life tells a different story.
We see a woman who claims to hold people accountable…yet stands by a husband who cheated…committed tax fraud…and struggled with addiction.
It’s a narrative that is both troubling and emblematic of a larger issue in modern politics and media: the erosion of trust.
Jeanine Pirro’s story isn’t just about her or her ex-husband.
It’s about the kind of values that are celebrated and upheld in the public sphere.
If we allow people like Jeanine Pirro…whose actions speak louder than her words…to define what it means to be a judge…a moral figure…or even a political spokesperson, we are complicit in the erosion of integrity and truth.
We must demand better. We must demand accountability, transparency, and, most importantly, honesty from those who claim to represent justice.
Moving Beyond the Persona
Jeanine Pirro’s life story is filled with contradictions…scandals…and moral compromises that cannot be ignored.
While she continues to sit on her self-appointed pedestal as a “judge” and a conservative media figure…it’s time to question whether her credibility can withstand the weight of her past. In my view, it can’t even come close.
Her behavior on-air…her complicity in her husband’s crimes…and her ongoing use of a title she no longer holds are all part of a pattern that undermines the very principles she purports to uphold.
It’s time to stop allowing Republicans to so easily and effortlessly see Jeanine Pirro as an untouchable moral authority.
Let’s focus on the real lessons her story teaches us about authenticity…accountability…and the dangers of blind loyalty to individuals who embody political hypocrisy, and share them with anyone and everyone who will listen.
Will it matter? Regarding Pirro, maybe…maybe not. However, there’s never a better time than now to develop the habit and speaking out, instead of playing it safe.
Over the long haul…that habit will matter. I assure you.
We can and must do better.
Best,
Jack
P.S. Have a great weekend!

This is just a paragraph from an email to my senators, Moran and Marshall on Wednesday evening.
As I sit here contemplating a close to this email, an announcement is being made that Kari Lake says OAN’s far-right coverage will fuel the Voice of America, i.e. with lies and propaganda (my take on this announcement). And now tonight Jeanine Pirro as the top prosecutor in DC because Ed Martin could not pass Senate confirmation, scrape the bottom of the barrel much? Just more insanity is all I see and not one competent person running anything.
It's time to start another email today as this band of clowns gives me something to write about daily, hell....................almost every hour of the day.
