For what it's worth I believe that writing is one of the most noble of professions. Your passion breaks through with every sentence. That is unique. I'm sure Shakespeare's wife brought him sandwiches. Keep doing what you're doing. We're here for you.
Jack, it is not that you write so much, but that you write so well. You take the absolute shit show that we are living and make it make sense. You are wise beyond your years.
This is excellent, Jack. Be grateful if your wife brings you sandwiches, as Shakespeare’s wife did. I’m a published author of children’s books, I know I’ll never be famous (and I really don’t want to be), and that’s fine. I just want to write. But my husband doesn’t bring me sandwiches! There are still so many ways we women have to fight for equality.
Made me LOL when you said a word made you itch!!! I understand completely, but there’s really no better way to say it. Is compulsion a pathology? I forget.
Anyway, what you’re doing takes a team effort and I’m happy for all of us (you and your support at home) that you decided to DO THE DAMN THING!!
What a wonderful example for your children. You are using your best (your Highest, if you will) instincts, efforts, skills for the good and THAT is deserving of respect.
So, respect you shall have, and I know I speak for more than just myself when I say that.
We had a gorgeous sunset with those very colors last week.
Hi Jack, This took me back to when I was following you on Twitter… religiously. I don’t remember if it was before or after it was bought out by Musk. Doesn’t matter…Anyway, one day you told us that you were going to devote all… or almost all… of your time and energy to this moment we find ourselves in. You had sat down with your family and talked with them about it. Your wife had recently decided, I believe, to go back to school. Not the greatest timing but none of us got to decide this. They supported your decision and obviously still do. I’m glad for that and I thank them for sharing you with us. I stayed on Twitter a lot longer than many because you were there. I finally left on 1/20/25. That was just a bridge too far for me. Then I followed you to Threads and SubStack because I realized I needed you. Needed your insight and analysis… obviously I still do. More than ever. I’m so grateful for your writing. It’s where I turn when I’m angry, anxious, frustrated and sad and it helps. I love how you lay everything out and make it make some sense. Thank you for all of it. You are appreciated maybe more than you know.
Hoping I live to see that day when we can all step back a little and just breathe the free air.
Thank you for so clearly articulating the reasons why I’m involved in public service and the effects of my choice on my life “balance” and those I love. We live in urgent times.
For me, thank you for your lopsided life isn't enough. What you write and then what I read hits me at a visceral level. I hear and feel your sincerity and urgency and it helps me face the shit show we are living in. So, thank you from my whole self to your whole self.
Jack your writing inspires all of us that follow you and we have great trust in what ou write. I find it very soul searching.I also appreciate the way you take the time to explain anything we ask or respond to inquires about certain things. Happy Holidays Jack. I know things are going to be different this year. We all just want some peace for little while.I am glad I discovered your substack

Probably. I heard she was the cousin to the Earl of Sandwich. 😉
Thank you for all you do.
You keep writing, we’ll keep reading. Deal?
I thank you for your lopsidedness because as I have said before that inspires me to better.

Appreciate and share the beauty. A rule of mine.
And I don’t have all that many.
Another is to endeavor daily to learn and grow.
Thank you for covering me on that one.

It's not only that your writing is exquisite...it's also that what you write is Friggin' Perfect!
