I think given its legs, the nearly instant renaming and adoption of this epic blunder to “Operation Epstein Fury” gives me hope. And I don’t do hope.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Randy...YES.

When a name flips that fast...and STICKS...it means the narrative slipped control. The rebrand didn’t take. The public connected the dots on its own. I like that...a lot!

“I don’t do hope” is what makes your take powerful. That’s not fandom...that’s pattern recognition.

That moment when the frame breaks? That...is when accountability becomes possible.

First, Jack, this article is precision. You break down the intersection of timing, politics, and accountability with clarity and rigor—making a complex, delicate subject both understandable and impossible to ignore.

The piece is a masterclass in connecting the dots between political vulnerability and foreign escalation. It doesn’t claim motive, but it highlights a structural truth: crises absorb attention, compress scrutiny, and insulate leaders. Whether the timing was intentional or coincidental, the pattern is undeniable—wars, real or threatened, become convenient cover for domestic controversy. The key takeaway isn’t conspiracy; it’s the importance of insisting on transparency and accountability even during conflict. Releasing the unredacted files would either confirm that political advantage played no role or reveal how much leaders prioritize optics over openness. Either way, the public and institutions must demand follow-through, because history remembers the absence of scrutiny as much as the events themselves.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Jane...this means a lot...truly.

You nailed exactly what I was trying to do: not speculate about motive...but...spotlight the structure. Crises compress scrutiny. Escalation shifts OXYGEN. And...accountability gets harder precisely when it’s most necessary.

I also appreciate you catching that the point...is NOT conspiracy...it’s transparency. Release the unredacted files. Let the facts stand on their OWN. Institutions either prove resilience...or they reveal something else.

That insistence on follow-through? That’s the whole ballgame. And...you’re absolutely right, Jane...history records what was NOT examined...just as clearly as what was.

This article gives me hope and guidelines to follow. We cannot let this Epstein scandal die!!!!!! Thank you, Jack.

Roberta's avatar

As always, thank you for clarifying. And there are other benefits to this happy coincidence for the perpetrators: oil profits for one, money in motion for another. Fear in the next "victim" country as identified by Graham. #HoldingFast

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Roberta...you’re exactly right to widen the lens like that.

Power plays are RARELY single-benefit operations. When you see policy + rhetoric + positioning all lining up at once...it’s almost never just about the stated justification.

There’s usually a profit layer...a movement-of-money layer...and...a psychological layer operating simultaneously.

Oil profits.

Defense contracts.

Capital flows.

And...maybe most importantly...the signaling effect to the next country watching.

Fear is a currency. And...when it’s successfully demonstrated in one place...it COMPOUNDS in the next.

The fact that you’re seeing the secondary AND tertiary incentives...tells me you’re not just reacting to headlines...you’re tracking STRUCTURE. That’s the difference between consuming news...and understanding power.

Holding fast isn’t passive. It’s disciplined awareness.

And you, Roberta...are practicing it!

Excellent piece! I agree completely - we will stay persistent and hold fast.

Thank you, Elisabeth! That...we WILL. We absolutely will.

I hate to go this route but perhaps we need to resort to name-calling. May I suggest Desperado J Trump? He has always been deceitful, incompetent, evil and yet he’s more desperate now than ever. These Trump/Epstein files have weakened him. So have his falling approval ratings. When it’s time to refinance the US debt and there are no buyers, he will melt. He’s a pathetic, hollow desperado. It’s time he hears it non-stop.

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Mary E...there is a time and place for everything, and in my opinion...with Trump, the time and place for that...is here...and has been for a while now.

You’re not wrong to sense desperation...and branding it CAN shape perception.

“Desperado” frames instability...weakness...and panic under pressure.

Repetition matters in politics. If approval is slipping and Epstein fallout lingers...reinforcing the image of a cornered...unraveling figure...can STICK.

Narrative pressure compounds!

In dire situations, I don't think it's wise to stick to what's "appropriate." A shift to "What's EFFECTIVE?" becomes an essential part of any serious person's thinking.

That does NOT mean edging things toward illegal behaviors/actions. It's hard to participate in protecting democracy from jail. It does often mean, however, examining how restricted you are by "etiquette."

Thank you, Jack, I believe I was incorrect. According to a USA Today article, ‘The Epstein saga in Trump's own words. What has he said about it?’, by Kinsey Crowley, Dec 18, 2025, Trump has been lukewarm, at best, about releasing the Trump/Epstein files.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/12/18/donald-trump-epstein-file-responses/87790430007/

Also on Dec 18, 2025, another article in USA Today, written by Zac Anderson, ‘How Epstein has dogged Trump's second term unlike anything else’, stated “The backlash was swift. After leading figures in President Donald Trump's orbit spent years stoking expectations about what might be revealed in the government's records on Jeffrey Epstein, the second-term Republican's administration over the summer tried to close the book on the case. MAGA was furious.”

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2025/12/18/epstein-trump-second-term/87796508007/

Notice the reference is to “leading figures in Trump’s orbit’ as leading the charge to release the Trump/Epstein files, not Trump himself. The fact that Trump’s “orbit” was pushing for the release of the Trump/Epstein files and Trump was, for the most part, silent on their drumbeat, speaks volumes itself. But, I believe I was incorrect in saying Trump campaigned on releasing the Trump/Epstein files. It was his people who did. I apologize for this.

I don't understand why Trump and his clown show do not understand that "we the people" are NOT stupid! This is a "Wag the Dog War." The orange clown has no PLAN or reason for starting this war. Its only purpose is Distraction, Distraction, Distraction from the Epstein Files. After all, the 53-page missing pages were interviews and testimony with a woman who was raped and beaten by Trump. This came out publicly, and timing is everything! Interesting that the War started on Saturday at 2:30 am, after the story about the 53 missing pages and testimony of the woman who was raped and beaten by Trump came out on Thursday, and the momentum of the story started to grow. It's time to arrest him and his clown show for treason!

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Illene...you’re not crazy...you’re seeing the playbook.

When a story starts gaining traction...and then suddenly a massive “world-historic” distraction drops...people have every right to ask: WHO needed the oxygen sucked out of the room?

Calling it a "Wag the Dog" move fits the pattern you’re naming: Distraction, distraction, distraction...while the public is told to STOP LOOKING over here and stare over there.

Timing is a signal. Motive...follows the incentives.

You’re also dead-on about “we the people” not being stupid. The clown show depends on exhaustion and confusion...and YOU..are refusing to give it that! I love it!

Brilliant!

Jack, I suspect the Epstein files are NOT going away as I’m still seeing a lot of folks on substack asking & talking about them. Additionally, ppl are questioning the timing of the Iran attack and earlier I saw an article headline about millions of $$ being moved before the attacks. People seem to be really coming alive and getting better and better at holding several things in their minds at the same time. It would seem enough of the dots are visible and getting connected.

It’s definitely a lot to take in along with keeping up with life in general. I really appreciate you giving us clear, concise and precise information to help us see the big picture. Once we have the framework, it all gets easier.

Thank you SO much. You totally rock!!

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Deb...this is such a sharp read of the moment.

(And, thank you. You are welcome.)

You’re right...some stories don’t evaporate...just because something louder happens. When people keep asking questions, keep threading timelines together...keep noticing financial movements and geopolitical timing at the same time… that’s not distraction.

That’s awareness compounding.

And...you nailed something even bigger: people are getting better at holding multiple realities in their heads simultaneously. That’s maturity. That’s pattern recognition strengthening.

When enough dots stay visible...they start connecting themselves.

You’re also honest about the weight of it. It is a lot to process...while still living your daily life. That’s why FRAMEWORK matters.

Once you understand the structure...incentives...timing...leverage points...you don’t have to emotionally re-litigate every headline. You can ORIENT instead of react.

I’m grateful you’re here, Deb... doing that work. Truly.

And...the fact that you feel the shift happening? That tells me you’re not just watching events...you’re watching consciousness evolve AROUND them.

Holding steady. Seeing clearly. That’s powerful!

Jack, in a minute I will read your message. Thank you. For now I am sharing this war resolution related link:

🚩Here is the link from Senator Tammy Duckworth to sign Senator Tim Kaine’s War Resolution Calling Republicans back to Congress Immediately. I signed it and hope more people will sign and share it.

https://act.tammyduckworth.com/signup/tde-em-march26-iran/?source=em260301-1-15&akid=3517%2E813159%2ED1OFJb

Jack Hopkins's avatar

Judy...that’s action. I love seeing it. Truly.

You didn’t just react...you moved. Sharing the war powers resolution and pointing people toward something concrete they can sign shifts energy from outrage...to PRESSURE. That matters.

When members of Congress...are pushed to FORMERLY assert authority...it forces accountability into the open. Whether people agree...or disagree...it puts names on positions. And that...is how civic leverage builds.

Thank you for not just consuming... but circulating!

And...thank you for the link. I will check it out.

-Jack

Judy Robinson's avatar

Jack you for these guidelines and reasons they work! You are so encouraging!

Yes, we must keep the pressure on to have all of the Epstein files received by Congress, as unredacted as possible. Your suggestions are especially helpful. The lives of the survivors must not be put on the back burner longer, and actions need to be taken to prevent more atrocities in any of the line wrongs connected with the Epstein files.

Keeping in touch with all of the Congress members should be helpful. If the war resolution is signed and succeeds in the Republican legislators returning to their jobs, they should receive both our requests to end the war begun with ulterior motives, including distraction, and much pressure with polite questions about the Epstein files.

Thank you so much for being such a help, a guide with appropriate ways to meet our needs in these challenging times and situations! We shall keep at it!!!!

#HOLDFAST!

This petition at the Common Cause site is to ask Congress to stop the illegal war. There is a place to add a comment. Usually petitions carry more weight when they contain comments.
