You've Nailed It 🎯 Jack‼️ it's going to be a Free For All, and let's hope like hell the Democrats have their shit together to rid this Cult out of existence once and for all. Terrific piece today, and will reStack ASAP 💯👍
The minute the center of gravity disappears...it becomes a full-on free-for-all. Every faction...every clown wanting the throne...rushing into the same vacuum. And yes… this is the moment where Democrats either stay focused and disciplined...or miss the biggest opening they’ve had in years. Appreciate the reStack...more coming tonight.
When you’re adapting long-form work to a fast-moving moment...occasionally a legacy line sneaks through. But the backbone of the piece was solid...and the next segment goes even deeper into what no one else is willing to map out. You’ll have it soon.
Thank you for the edit, Jack. No big deal, it was caught and the revision was made.
I think the current prez is of sound mind (sound enough to stand trial should he make it that far).
I agree he does have a stranglehold as well as a cultish, brainwashed loyalty from all who have allowed him to be their handler.
But I wonder daily who his handler is. With that, should he exit, the grand handler (Oz, for lack of a better identifier) may breathe fear into anyone who doesn’t link in with whomever the heir is. They’ve soiled themselves and likely have too much to lose (perhaps even their own lives) if they step out of line.
You’re right about the dynamic, Mary...and I appreciate the grace on the edit.
As for the “handler” question: every authoritarian project has two layers. The figurehead... and the network behind him...donors...hardliners...media power brokers...and those who tied their fortunes to his rise. That network enforces fear when needed.
If he exits...it won’t be one “Oz” pulling strings. It’ll be the whole ecosystem...scrambling to keep the project alive...and pressuring everyone to fall in line.
Too many of them have gone too far to back out cleanly. They can only double down.
That’s why we stay alert...because the leader can fall...but the machinery doesn’t disappear with him.
Damn right, Teri. The real chaos isn’t the death of the leader...it’s the vacuum that follows. The moment he’s gone...every faction...every ego...every opportunist will scramble for the throne. That’s when the movement turns on itself.
And yes...the follow-up digs into that part. It’s the piece no one else will touch.
I’m archiving this one Jack. My fear is the conspiracists are ,somehow or other, going to have fodder for their theories, and if that were to be the case, Democrats are going to be in the crosshairs. This administration is so corrupt, that it could manufacture a really plausible scenario, for the death of 🍊💩, despite the fact everyone knows it’s rotting from the inside out. I’m truly worried for you.
I hear you, Mo....and thank you for caring enough to say it out loud. But let me reassure you on one thing: the people who spin conspiracies will do it no matter what happens...or who says what. They don’t need facts...they need fuel...and they’ll invent it if they have to. That part isn’t new.
What is new is the level of rot and corruption inside this administration...and you’re right: they’d absolutely try to weaponize any moment of chaos to redirect blame.
That’s why clarity matters...and why voices like ours don’t back down.
And don’t worry about me...truly. I say what needs saying...but I do it without stepping into the traps these people rely on. We deal in facts...patterns...and history...not fantasy.
That keeps us safe...and it keeps us effective.
Stay steady. We’re going to navigate this with clear eyes...not fear.
Harris was an obvious typo - these things happen. But you corrected it immediately and didn’t blame anyone else, which is more than good enough! I also think you’re spot on in looking past the death itself - it’s the jockeying for position afterwards that should be the focus. Witness the delayed and managed release of news of the deaths of Stalin, Tito, Franco, Mao etc.
Yep, Mike...typos happen...especially when you’re adapting long-form work at the speed the news hits these days. The key is exactly what you said: fix it immediately...own it... move on. That’s how adults operate.
And you’re right about the larger point. The death itself is never the real story in authoritarian systems...it’s the vacuum...the secrecy...the choreography...the power struggle that erupts behind the curtain.
Stalin...Tito...Franco...Mao… history is full of “managed” transitions that tell you far more about the regime than the leader ever did.
That’s why the next phase matters more than the moment...and why we keep our eyes on the aftermath...should that occur during his time in office...not the headline.
The only thing I did not follow was how Harris gets involved. I know there is a lot of talk, especially by statisticians, that Trump did not win in 2024 because the odds of having all 7 swing states go to Trump are a billion to one. I know there was talk of Musk interfering with the voting machines' algorithms. I do not get where Harris fits in your commentary. Please expand on that.
But I will revisit some of the election interference issues you brought up...as we get closer to the midterms. In the meantime, The Atlantic published an outstanding article yesterday ...about the threats of Trump subverting upcoming elections.
This scenario assumes a sudden death. Isn’t it more likely he succumbs to a lingering death where he’s giving direction from a hospital bed with a morphine drip? In that scenario isn’t there a rolling breakdown that has a different type of outcome?
It will be an entire shit show when he dies (not 'if' because I am an optimist) and even though the country will suffer short-term from the implosion of the GOP and MAGA, I will sit back, smile and take a breath of relief because he's dead. It can't happen soon enough, imho.
Whew. Thanks for that clarification. In the section on “they would rebel against Harris in 72 hours” I freaked out thinking I missed how the Constitution works. Like does the loser of the presidential get to become POTUS?
(A girl can dream…)
I’ll tell you what I’ll do when the 🍊 motherfucker (sorry, but seriously, nothing else fits his putrid, rotting-flesh, imbecilic, narcissistic, asshole-y self)—
I will have the biggest, baddest, happiest, most joyful day EVER!!!!!
I don’t even care about the chaos that will ensue—I will be SO DUCKING HAPPY
He runs the country not as a politician, but as a CEO. CEOs think they are a monarch and run their companies that way, as does he. I have lived through a few corporate situations where the CEO “left” abruptly, one by a tragic car accident. The results were the sequence you outline, the emotions you list, and the factions that came about. Some made it, transformed/morphed into a new normal. The one where the CEO died didn’t.
Your advice to stay calm and vigilant is what kept me going at the time until the dust settled. In a couple cases I was laid off/quit which isn’t an option here for me. I love America too much to repatriate.

I truly appreciate the explanation for the re-issuance of this column. I suspected as much! Can't wait for the next segment.
I appreciate that level of understanding, Mickey.

Total chaos will most likely occur because everyone will want to be in charge. I look forward to the follow up

Many of us have been thinking about this. Thanks, Jack! You are the man of this moment.
You're welcome. Thank YOU, Deborah.

She doesn't, Ilene. Thus, the removal.

Typos happen. I’m making them more and more at work!
Sure enough, Sheila. I make a LOT of them...but I usually catch the majority of them.

Right here with ya, my friend.
Restacking. Important.
