Like the other commenters I needed this. The latest SCOTUS decision was depressing if not quite unexpected.

Kind of the way I felt after Dobbs.

Sometimes when I find myself getting enraged, I write to my two useless senators (I live in PA). It makes me feel a little better even though I don’t expect much.

Wow! Jack this was what I needed to read today…I am feeling the burnout…took myself out of the loop to some degree today, focused on other things, reading a book…took a walk in our garden to check on our veggies, which are now sprouting. It seems that the “shite” is coming faster with each passing day, sometimes multiple times a day! We need to do whatever we can to find moments of peace, but we cannot lose focus and must continue to do all we can to resist and #HoldFast!

I pick a day... usually on Sunday... where I stay off the Internet and enjoy a movie and a good home cooked meal.

I spend the day either with loved ones.. or with memories of loved ones.. laughing and enjoying the beautiful scenery all around me,

of which I am truly blessed.

Though I've never been the kind of person who screams and yells and REACTS to outside stimuli..injustice does bend me backwards. I actually get calmer as things get crazier, a trait I learned from having kids.

But through ALL this, I seem to keep circling back to what DECADES of history I do know about trump. He IS ALWAYS self destructive AND trump ALWAYS OVERPLAYS his hand because his narcissism in paranoia always get the best of him. He must truly be exhausting to be around! And I'm SURE he drains ALL his sycophants... even more than he does us. There is justice in that!

Lessons are NOT learned easily.

And I refuse to have him, and his GOP maga Congress and nursing home for pedophiles, live rent free in my head. There's too much beauty in there!

I thank you for your wisdom and courage, Jack. I find you interesting.

I THINK.. the way you WRITE.. and truly enjoy the ART you showcase with your words. Thank you.

Thank you, Jack. Like most said… I needed this. Our well is down so we have no water so there’s that.. but I’m still managing to be more concerned about what’s happened in our country than when it’ll be fixed. So inconvenient though. *sigh*

So… as I was taking a last pass through my email inbox… there you were. That headline… and just what I knew I needed. So here I am. It’s hard to stay grounded but I’m trying. Haven’t been doom scrolling much at all. My phone is blowing up with texts and emails. Everyone is panicking… Everyone needs money. I know they need it to fight this. I chose a couple that I knew would work for us. I sent some letters that I know won’t do much good but I tried. They know I’m awake and in their inboxes.

What’s happening in Louisiana is terribly concerning. There’s nothing I can do but wait and see how it plays out. I know it’s a test. I hope it fails. If it doesn’t I’m not sure where it goes from there. I know what the people begging for money are saying but they’re desperate.. playing on emotions. Maybe you can address that at some point.

Still feel a little sick but I’m not paralyzed and I’m not giving up.

Again… thank you. I appreciate this.. and you!

#Holdfast

Thank you for this well written & important article Jack. There’s definitely a lot of psychological manipulation going on with this regime. Your articles have helped me to see signals & patterns. I limit my intake of the news. It’s not healthy to be in a heightened state of stress constantly. I’m in control of managing it. I stayed informed without being overwhelmed. I put more focus into living my life. It’s the best decision I’ve made for myself to get through these chaotic times.

Excellent advice this evening ✨ Jack. By Networking here on Substack, I've found that not only has my Stress levels gone down, but that people are more inclined to read and process Bad News better. Still get the Haters, but there's always going to be those of us that have limited coping skills. Thanks for all you do for the American People and me, and will reStack ASAP 🙏💯👍

I do think you are reading my mind. I have been cycling through this exact mindset. There seems to be a lot more happening than my mind can hang on to and not be overwhelmed. Just right now it seems worse than ever. I actually decided a couple nights ago I was tired of how I have been treating myself. Sleeping during the day and reading madly all night is not working out - I feel disconnected and exhausted. Even having slept these past two nights I feel clearer and more able to cope with THE SUPREME COURT. I mean, c’mon on! Thank you. Your timing is impeccable!
