A Genius He’s Not: The Vaccine He Ordered Does Not Exist

2,566 measles cases. The most in 35 years. And last Monday he signed an order telling parents to wait for three shots that nobody makes.

The Jack Hopkins Now Newsletter #1,002: Monday, August 17th, 2026

Let me be blunt, because I’m too pissed off about this to be anything else.

On August 10th, in the Oval Office, Trump signed an executive order instructing that the MMR vaccine be broken into three separate single-disease shots.

Here is the part I need you to understand before anything else.

Those shots do not exist.

Not “are less common.” Not “are harder to find.” They are not approved by the FDA. They are not manufactured in this country. You cannot buy them. Your pediatrician cannot order them. There is no warehouse…no back order…no waiting list.

The order itself concedes this. It says the MMR should be given as three separate shots once such products are domestically available.

Once available.

So…what has actually been ordered? Nothing. Not a f*cking thing. What’s been communicated? Everything.

Because…a parent sitting in a waiting room…on Monday morning…does NOT read the fine print about domestic availability. She hears the President of the United States say the combined shot should be split up. And…she does the reasonable thing a worried parent does.

She waits.

That’s not a side effect of this order. Functionally…that is the entire product.

Now Here’s the Timing

The very next Monday…six days later…the CDC published this school year’s kindergarten numbers.

Coverage for MMR and DTaP: between 92% and 92.4%.

The threshold for stopping an outbreak: 95%.
