So, I think I may have gotten that little crying jab out of my system. Between what you’ve been telling us and my grief over the deaths of this beautiful children (through the eyes of myself as the mother of two girls and grandmother of two more) I’ve been a bit off balance. Then I watched “Lee” this afternoon on HULU and the lightbulb literally shattered itself on my head. IT’S HAPPENING AGAIN - HERE!! NOW!!

Silence isn’t an option and pleasant discourse for civility’s sake ain’t gonna cut it. UGH!!😩

I may be gonna require coaching.

What a tragic event in Texas. To send your child to a camp, fairly confident they’ll be safe…and then to have them washed away in the blink of an eye. I could only think of those parents this morning.

Thanks, Jack, for telling it like it is. The truth hurts, but we’ve got to face it and “make good trouble.”

Thank you. I realize that it’s a redundant message. But, I also know the power of redundancy to keep us wide awake…and from sliding back into a slumber that lulls us into complacency. I write these as much for myself…as anyone else. I’m as vulnerable as others if I slip up.

Who’s the guy in this issue’s picture feed at the beginning…the blond man at the bottom, wearing glasses.

Who is he?

That’s Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party and the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, CJ.

Thanks again. You need to be very specific in your assignments. Us old people who arr not in good shape need a way to participate. I wish there were some 30-50 year old people who would add their skills. The folks I know are all taking vacations and taking their kids to activities. I don’t know anyone that age that is active in this fight. 👹

I am frustrated by the same things. Wish I had the ability to participate more. I couldn't run to save my life but am willing to help out in a meaningful way. I am the next elections will be rigged and I'm not normally a conspirancy monger. why are Americans so thick headed about the possibilities? Maybe they won't come true, but what if? We must be prepared.

I do thankfully live in a solid blue state, great governor and citizens in my area.

My big family is made up of like minded folks. So my support group is strong. I do worry, as do you, about those people who are as fortunate. Thank you for checking in on me.

The operative phrase here is STREET FIGHTING. No rules, no Karate, no kickboxing, no Muay Thae, but every dirt-in the face, bloody nosed, elbow to the solar plexus, fingernails to the balls, take-no-prisoners methods we can up with. Because that's what's being done to us right now. We feel it. We HAVE to feel it. If we don't, we're sitting at a burned out train station and the last train left six months ago. The question is, will we all show up.

Last night I was at a 4th of July party. While scrolling down my emails (because that's what I do) I discovered two messages from The White House something-or-other. While getting ready to delete them a box popped up asking me to declare why this is the greatest country, why I loooove this country and its government, yada yada yada. I handed my phone to my son-in law because, with his Master's in writing he is far more articulate than I. He wrote the most scathing, excoriating response followed by, "Do not email again." I submitted it. Then I sent the two emails to SPAM. I suspect I'll get a knock on my door. Oh well.

I watched the movie version of the Alexander Hamilton play by Lin-Manuel Miranda as my July 4th celebration. I learned a lot of details that don't get taught in history classes. (whispering: the founding fathers were actual humans with all our common frailties.) It definitely cemented my perseverance in this fight. I was built for this timeframe, even on the days I hate it.
